I'm 16 and at the start of the year I made a promise to myself never to use text language ever. There is nothing cool about it, it just makes people lazy (and non-english people confused) so, to everyone out there in my age bracket, please learn to write properly so the EVERYONE can understand it, and it will also help you pass those ever-daunting english exams!

I'd love to see a view Queen+ Robbie Williams shows.

Maybe Some Peole Just Like To Shout. Does It Annoy Anyone When People Post Like This? :P [/QUOTE]

Yes dear God, yes.

There is someone around here who does it ALL the time on EVERY post. He says he is a sixteen year old college student!? Does he write like this in essays?

It Is Almost As Frustrating As When People Write ALL IN CAPS LOCK.

OK, so I am not the brightest bulb on the tree. I did not know for the longest time that you could edit/correct your own entries. Maybe this info will help some contributors once they see what they have written. It is the first icon nearest to the date/time of your entry. Click on it, go in and make your changes, and click on post message, and the correction will appear. Keep on posting no matter what! Also, I would suggest being as descriptive as you can when filling in the subject line when you start a new topic. I pass on by subjects such as "No subject."
Yes, it was a worthwhile experience.

Oh, my gosh - I just looked at your Smitty profile. How hilarious!!! Wasn't it the very famous writer, Gertrude Stein (sp?), that wrote in run-on sentences. It is an art form. You are in stellar company!

good stuff right there LOL
but what i dont get with this thingy is that if the kids shouldnt be exposed to words(they're just bloody words!) when theyre "that young" then they shouldnt even be on the internet at all, or watch TV, they say "hell" on tv now >:O . When i think about it at the age 11 people in my school were already loosing their virginity, and were smoking pott, cigarretes, Ecstasty, and doing coke lines and i kid you NOT. The people in my town are soo brought up wrong if, i know 11 year olds now who are doing drugs, im not friends with them i just pity them really. But what im trying to say is that a bit of words that have a bad name/ definition to them are the least of our worries. OH! and im not saying any of the kids here are druggies! None the less i will curb my language

Sorry, I don't know how quoting works. I'll do it my way:

QUOTE:
How much more difficult would this be for you to read if it was incorrectly translated, (or worse still), written as a German "text-message?

That's a funny kind of German language! Not totally crappy, but a few words in there are simply wrong, there also are some funny expressions. Altogether is giving parts of the text a wrong meaning. The misspelled English words aren't translated, so I guess you used a translation programme? If so, I'm surprised how well it worked, though. Would you mind telling me how you did it?
As you may have detected, I'm German and I use the English language only in internet forums, so please forgive my bad language. But at least I've tried my best to be understood well.
