I still haven`t heard the Queen live version of this song, but if you say Tuck and Patti version blows Bri and Rog away i`m not sure if i want to listen to this, because i`ve heard their version and compared to the real stuff it sucked big way, but i understood what they`ve tried to do considering their style. Tuck is a wonderfull guitar player!!

Tuck and Patti rock. Their version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time" is just one of my favorite covers of all time. Trying to scare up that IWBTLY version for awhile now. It's not on iTunes.

I remeber this song was used for a TV comercial for "Noevia" cosmetics. It was on air a little after Freddie released his first solo album "Mr. Bad Guy", so I assume in or around '85.
I don't know anything about that beer commercial. But the biggest reason for gaining the popularity for this song is due to that drama that someone already mentioned here. Almost every Japanese who watches TV seems to know "I was Born to Love You."

I can't think of many songs in the Queen catalogue that I care less for. Hated it on Freddie's solo album, hated it on MIH. But hearing them play it in Japan gave me an appreciation for the fact that even Queen's weaker material has an amazing ability to touch people. Plus Roger is in fantastic voice for a 55 year old man who is not a lead singer and hasn't sung a whole lot in 10 or so years in a live setting.
