I'm having dental surgery on Monday, Nov. 28th (this month, obviously), to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed.
I'm going to be taking at least 3 days off of work, since I'll practically be drugged up and out of it for a bit.
Hopefully this surgery won't be as bad as I think.
So wish me luck, everyone!
(And if any of yas had your wisdom teeth removed, please share your experiences, thanks in advance)

When I see dentist - I jump into my car and drive away as fast as it possibly ;)
Wish you luck!

It's not that bad but I would not let them take out all four in one session if I were you. It's better to have them removed on one side and when you can chew on this side again have the other two removed. It's unnecessary to have such a big surgery. You won't be able to eat properly for weeks which is unhealthy.
Dental surgeries are child's play. Now everyone quits being a pussy and takes it like an inmate from behind. With pride.
I've had six surgically removed, three on both occasions. The operation doesn't hurt, the aftermath is that you feel like you've been butchered. Just get used to swallowing your own blood, else you'll bleed like a pig.
Oh and my surgeon was kind enough to overdo with the anesthetic shots so I was severel numb and looked paralyzed from other side of my face for hours.
All I can say is that my blood tastest terrible and with two surgeries it was a bummer that just when I had gotten the other side to heal I had another appointment for removals...

I haven't had any wisdom teeth out but when I was younger I had eleven teeth out in one go. Can't say it was the best experience I've ever had. What I would say is that I'd never get the gas again. The nightmares you have with that stuff are just awful.
Anyway, good luck and keep smiling...maybe not.

My son is having his out next month too! I had the easiest wisdom teeth extraction known to man, I think. Went in that morning, was put under, had them pulled, went home, rested awhile, and then later that night went out for supper (crab legs, yum!) with my boyfriend (now my husband). Had very little pain, no swelling, nothing. Absolutely nothing to it. Everyone was amazed.
Anyway, good luck to you! :-)

Had mine out long time ago. The first two days are uncomfortable but just keep taking Tylenol 3s and you will be in la la land and you wont care.
Good luck! I'm going to hafta get my four wisdom teeth out sometime this year or next. :-/
Good luck!!!
I should go to the dentist too, until the cavity gets even worse...

I had four removed at once and survived. They had to pulverize the top two teeth and remove the pieces. I only missed one week of work. I don't remember it being that bad. I don't remember pain, but I remember play with blood clots with my tongue, and I remember being able to eat, but not chewing twoard the back of my mouth. I remember being more miserable with chicken pox.
I don't even have wisdom teeth, lol.
Yeah, the surgeon's office said I had to take 3 Advil Regular Strength tablets the night before (for a total of 600mg), and then some after the surgery, as well as painkillers (I think).
I can't take my normal Celexa medication the day of the surgery, and 36 hours afterwards. (And this is the antidepressant medication that controls my anger).
My Dad's going to have to drive me to and from the office (obviously), so it shouldn't be too bad for me, hopefully.

Oh, and let me know if it hurts! Half my friends say that it went smoothly and the other half say that it hurts quite a bit.

If my memory serves me correct, my Mom's surgery wasn't bad at all, from what she told me. She said that she was basically in there and done with the surgery quickly (of course, her girlfriend still had to drive her home, I think). She said it didn't bother her much.
I remember talking to her about it when I was visiting her last month, but I can't remember too much about that conversation.
And yes, when I'm feeling well enough (or when I've recovered enough from the drugs) to type, I will let you know how I'm feeling.
I just hope I don't die (for whatever reasons). But if you guys don't hear from me by Dec. 5th at the latest, you'll know why :P
