How do you know it`s filmed?- It was filmed but they never found the tapes. Probably the tapes were re-used for another filming.

But what they never think about are the real technical details as to why that's impossible. DVD works for getting better quality out of video because it supports the native resolution almost directly. But guess what, that's as good as they can ever look, without upping the resolution artificially, which will look crap.
This is why film can continue to get better and better transfers, as it is possible to transfer at higher scan rates. It's not infinite, but it shows that it can get better. I'm sure there was a thread about video versus film on here about this very subject before.

geniuses the sound quality on HD-dvd and Blue Ray are going to better than dvd so that alone should warrant a re-release of the absolute best of the best from Queen atleast (Wembley (because so many casual listeners know it maybe Houston, etc.)

I'm not ure of the audio spec on blu ray and HD-DVDs. Is it much better than the 96/24 DTS that they use on the current Queen SD DVDs?

Doubt it, so again NO NEED to transfer non film stuff to HD, a lot of the SD stuff looks BAD enough. God forbid they even attempt to start 'messing about' in the HD domain!

From what I've heard DoRo have accompanied them on the the magic tour, for a documentary. Snippets of some concerts exist on film (DoRo did not use video as far as I know), as well as a lot of TV-coverage: Leiden, Mannheim for example.
For me the best to finish the '86-thing would be a documentary with snippets of Knebworth as well as the mentioned shows, and the whole Budapest show. I too have heard that Knebworth was not filmed in its entirety, but ANY footage of the last Queen concert ever would be great. And if only the screen captures have survived, fine with me - as far as I know Earls Court consists only of the screen recordings as well.
Of course there is enough 80's material and we all wait for 70's shows. But I am sure they are going to be released in the not so far future. On Queenonline someone from the production team (JSS) was asked several times about 70's shows and he always said he does not know why they haven't been released yet - he did not say the can not be released due to minor quality. Greatest video hits 3? Sorry, but are there some Queen promo videos left to re release. I am sure they were all covered in hits 1 and 2.
A concert would be better, there are already 2 releases from the magic tour, hot space tour, and the not very good quality canadian concert (was called we will rock you when I bought it on VHS in the 1980's)
How about a concert from the 1984 Works tour, or maybe the Game tour from the late 70's
They could even start at the begining. Re release the Rainbow gig, and then a concert from each tour, in chronological order, maybe with an audio commentary by the band and crew explaining what went on.

You're just being asked to be chastised. Think before you speak dear. Obvious you dont own Greatest Video Hits 1 and 2 on dvd because if you did you'd realize that for starters the Innuendo videos weren't on GVH 2and havent been released officially in 5.1...

Oooh I'm sorry. The DVD's are 500 miles away at the minute, along with my complete set of original vinyl singles and LP's, My complete set of 1980's first release CD's, a complete set of pre DVD VHS videos. Pardon me for forgetting that the innuendo videos (which are on my Greatest Flix 2 video) are missing from the DVD.
As for the 5.1 comment, as I don't have a 5.1 amp I wont miss it.
Seems to me a GVH 3 DVD would look a bit empty if all it contained were the promos for "Innuendo," "I'm going slightly mad," "Headlong," "The Show must go on," and "Days of our lives."
I still stand by my comment, release the live stuff, try for one concert from each tour. If a whole night doesn't exist then make a setlist from a tour using what footage is available, or as I said where footage exists from more than one camera then release a concert DVD utilising multi angle tecnology then you can choose to watch John playing the bass, or just Freddie singing. or any of the millions of permutations 5 or 6 angles for one and a half ours that must exist.

Sadly, from a business standpoint Knebsworth would probably make more sense than Houston because of the marketing edge Knebsworth has.
When Wembley first came out on VHS here in the states, critics were saying that the Knebsworth show was better and Brian's playing was ON that day so I'm wondering if more of that show does exist than we know.
