ANATO 30th anniversary what a joke

one of my mates is a springsteen fan and ive seen the born to run 30 anniversary edition. it has the album in remasterd form, a making of disc with the stories as to how it was made and a dvd live show from 1975. why do we queen fans get the album with a new cover and pretend videos for songs?? im glad i didnt get too excited about the ANATO edition

Brian and Rog are only cashing in... substandard products... it´s all about making big bucks, suckin´the fans one more time before going to heaven... or maybe hell?!? ...

Of course, at least one or two more dates in the US in 2006...
...so go and get your tix for 200 bucks "People of Detroit"...

...but get them before your factory closes down... it´s all "driven by you".. and only YOU!

if freddie were still alive he probably wouldnt give two shillings about old releases like the 30th Anniversary ANATO or old concerts. If the record company decided to release them I doubt Freddie wouldn't care short of them taking a dump oiin a dvd box and releasing that. I say that cause I feel Freddie would be for releasing high quality NEW music and if he had it his way the back catalogue wouldnt get glorified re-releases.

So guys, do you think it is worth getting?

If Freddie were still alive he probably wouldn't even re-release 'Bohemian Rhapsody', he said he didn't like to write or even think about after. But you never know.

I picked it up today. I think it was well worth it. Its a hell of a lot better than Queen 2. ROTC and ANATO are really good. *Expects flames*

Well I cannot comment - I got my discs in the post yesterday from CD Wow (UK) and i live in Australia - and when it arrived it had NO damn DVD in it, but two audio discs !! And it seems I am not the only one to have had this happen. So EMI are definately asleep in the packing plant I think? LOL

My father just bought it for me for Christmas. Springsteen is an acquired taste.

I thought the consensus was that this DVD-A is inferior (especially the Prophet Song) to the previous DVD-A (which Brian oversaw).

you have to check the The Cure re-editions, each album comes with an aditional CD with rarities demos and other stuff from the recording sessions... for example, Three Imaginary Boys, Cure's first album, comes with a 20 song cd, featuring a lot of rarities from the album... 20 songs!!!... and, we, queen fans, we deserve more than that, and what we got?...

well, there's the 30th of ADATR soon... maybe QP might do something better on that one (April Fool's)

Why don´t they bring DVD-A´s from all the other albums? A day at the races or Jazz would be great.

But Queen is history, thats a fact, and no Paul Rodgers and 3rd. ANATO can change that.
Just bringing some(excellent!) footage from Earls Court and Houston in Death on two legs, the rest is more or less well known, even partly obsolet.
Come on Brian and Roger: you created a lot more than ANATO, so for the start I would say: first JAZZ DVDA, then News of the World DVDA etc.
But I am afraid, they come up with the 20th anniversary of Wembley with a "brandnew" Special Edition next year.

The DVD-A is great, but this new mix is even better IMHO. The volume is much better (for example the piano intro of Death On Two Legs). And the voices are much louder, really great. But I love both versions.

I never did get that ANATO special edition... And I don't intend to buy it either. :P


I did however get that Born To Run box set for christmas, and I'm now listening to the album for the seventh time... I never knew how good that album was.
