Why No MSG on tour??

I'm not blaming them...it's just a shame in a way as they miss the chance to play better venues in some cases.

Playing the big houses is expensive, and unless a band is really guarenteed to sell it out, it's not worth the promotors time to bother with it.

I think many folks will end up traveling again to take part in these shows..but heck, that's a tradition when your're a Stateside Queen Fan. We're used to it man!

Shoot....you have to travel to go to a real Queen Convention...you have to travel to see shows like WWRY..and of course to see anybody connected with the Band play live! At least this time, we don't need a passport to do so, right? :)

I'm surprised they aren't playing MSG. If they dropped the nassau Coliseum & only played MSG as they're NY area concert, it would surely sell out. In Philly they are playing the Spectrum, which is the older, smaller indoor venue. It used to house the 76ers & Flyers home games as well as all the major acts who came to play n=in town. Thats where I saw them in 82. There is a newer, bigger indoor arena right next door that houses most of the major concert that come to town. As well as the Sixers & Flyers games, the Wachovia Center. It holds at lesast 23,000 for a concert, probablly more. But the Spectrum is about the same as the CAA in the Meadowlands. I would love for them to play the "Big Joint" as its called, but seeing them in the old Spectrum again will be sweet. The circle will be complete!

Hmm, I thought they were playing the Wachovia Center. Why the hell are they playing the Spectrum? Is it really that much bigger?

Though I'd personally prefer if they played the Tower Theater, or even the Keswick. Or The Electric Factory. But I guess they really wouldn't go for the smaller theaters...

The tour date lists the Spectrum as the venue here in Philly. The larger Wachovia Center is much bigger than the Spectrum. But that won't matter. They will blow the roof off of either one. Who knows, if there is enough demand, maybe they'll move it next door to the "Big Joint" ! I'd love to see them play the Tower Theater. But it only holds about 3,500 people. They would need to play 6 shows to cover the number of people in the Spectrum. Robert Plant played two nights at the Tower in June. I was fortunate to attend both shows.

i bet they add dates as the tour rolls on.

Folks they are touring during March Madness, NBA, and NHL seasons...venue availablity was very limited..I was checking over the weekend. Also promoters have a lot to do with it as well..don't blame the band[/QUOTE]

to continue the philly theme-the spectrum was only venue available-wachovia center booked.as far as acoustics the spectrum is superior to the center so good for us.another super philly venue is the borgata theatre(ATLANTIC CITY).pearl jam and audioslave played fab shows there and only seats 3500.
