Am I the only one who thinks these are vile and grotesque pictures?
I mean, after seeing the real thing in action earlier this year, I find it very distressing that Bri would put these pics up on his site:

View them at your peril, you might end up having nightmares of guitar funerals and the like!!!!!

OUCH...my eyes!!
Reminds me of some pics at rotten.com I once accidently saw. Hard to get out of your brain. Nightmares.
I wonder what are they gonna do with the old frets and the small pieces they`re now replacing!!
I would love to have at least one old fret from that guitar...
TAke care

I'm sure those will be buried with Brian :)
Yeah that and the red special will be with brian when he dies as for the pictures great to see it in pieces to see what holds it together and so forth.
It's obvious the RS is in a desperate need for a mot after 40 YEARS as it has a another long journey ahead eg. usa tour a possible european tour in 2006/07 and a new album, i'm sure after all necessary work as been done it will look and sound even better.

As a fellow guitarist and lifelong Queen fan, I found these pictures to be nothing short of amazing. The fact that Brian has gone out of his way to update people with the most minute details of his guitar being fixed, and posting pictures, is too awesome.
Over the years, Brian has surely posted a lot of incredible things at his Soapbox.

Totally agree. I think us guitarists appreciate it more. I have a BM copy and it plays like crap. It going back!!

It looks to me like this overhaul on the Red Special was WAY overdue. Based on the condition of some of those parts, it's a miracle it didn't malfunction.
Brian is awesome, especially in sharing that with us now.
Viva Brian and the Red Special.

I always thought that 7 on the bass was enough....
That is some great stuff. I mean, it's arguably the most famous guitar in the world, and in a sense we're getting instant history courtesy of Brian. Great stuff.
I think it is pretty cool to see the RS getting a "grooming" and it is cool that Brian is letting us see her "stripped down and naked" - I love the photos, makes her more real to us as fans. I don't have a problem with seeing them at all.
I remember being disappointed that Brian didn't pull a Pete Townshend and completely demolish his guitar, but I can see that over the years he may have been just as harsh on it - completely unintentionally, of course.
