Yes, there is an 'expert' here. Actually, there are a few of them.

One of them is precisely Mr. John S Stuart. I highly recomend his Ultimate Collection posts for each year, including pretty much every single version for each Queen and solo songs. Here you can find most of the information he has posted: http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/discography.aspx
You can search for the rest using the "Search" button.

For a detailed database of audio and video recordings of live concerts, you can try Mr. Scully's site www.queenconcerts.com. Another top reference.

For a detailed explanation of the different venues Live Killers you can check Sir GH's page. Right now it seems as it's not working but there's this thread by JSS in QZ that discusses it: http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=605260.

Other highly reliable sources are Barbara (YourValentine) and Marco (Bokkepot), admins in the QueenHub. If you have downloaded a Queen video with a black screen at the begining and the "YV encoding" message, then you must thank Barbara.

These are a few of the people whose posts I usually consider helpful or interesting. There must be many other reliable posters but these are the ones that I'm most familiar with.

I think it's OK for a newbie to want to know a lot about Queen. It's fascinating, I know, we've all been there. You can choose to believe whatever you want to believe or maybe do some research to know the truth. It's kinda easy nowadays. You just have to search on Queenzone, ask the experts for references and READ A LOT. It's much better than believing "what could be" or "it's possible that..." kind of arguments.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to upload this anyway Dreamweaver.

Any misunderstandings could have been corrected in a more gentle manner and I hope this hasn't put you off uploading in future.

Have a good new year mate!

Thanks Manic, for your kind words !

Oh well, I will try to upload more new stuff in the future, don't worry.

About the Mercury / Jackson thing here:
Like I said in an earlier post, I really thought this was a real demo. Unfortunatly it isn't ..... :-(

And yes: It is a Fan Mix ... and IMHO a pretty good one.

I'll do my homework better before I'll upload another thing, okay.

... and that's the end of another story ( I HOPE )

Cheers to ya' all here @ QZ !!
Bye 4 now

Cheers, Mike
Two points Mike. In reverse order and beginning with the latter; "What matters to me is if I like it or not...".

No one is stopping anyone else from enjoying this mix, and I too think it has been well done, (even PG says it is "listenable" - and from him that is a compliment!!), so I don't think anyone is disputing whether the mix should be 'liked' or not.

As to the first point; "does it really matter if it's "genuine" or not?" , in this case, yes, it really does matter, especially if this untruth is continued to be passed on as something of a rarity. So it should be catalogued correctly, and not passed off as genuine - when it clearly is not so.
This is indeed a fan mix, and i´ve never thought about that but after i read this comments i did my research, and there is one strong evidence that prooves that this is a fake demo:

1- The Demo we`re talking about was recorded in 1983, and i think it was Freddie who said that after the "Thriller" success Michael had become reclusive (like our John!!).

If you listen to the Demo tape from the Box Set-"Freddie Mercury- Rarities vol.1" - There Must Be More To Life recorded 25th may 1984 you`ll see that Freddie isn`t near of having a backing track completed. In fact he`s strugling just to hit the right notes at the begining!!

In this Demo the backing track it`s the same as the album finished version, and as you can see, it was impossible to be finished in 1983.

So, i guess i`m GOD!

Take care
ok dudes, i guess i'm a bit ignorant on this point. As i'm knew on queenzone, i didn't noticed there were demo experts. My appologies and have a nice new year 2006!
I found this and State of Shock quite a while ago. When I first saw the webpage with them on it I thought it was a joke. Then I listened, and... what do I know?... it sounded good. Well, Freddie sounded good, anyway. I thought it was strange, yes, but I also thought it was real. Thanks all, for clarifying.

Here's the link to the webpage I got them from - if anyone's interested.
