Brian seems like he's done a fair deal of bass-playing. Not that bass is all that difficult to play (at any rate, in those songs which he played I imagine the basslines aren't overly complicated) but still, he's even more versatile than I imagined. All sorts of guitars, bass, the harp, piano, keyboards, vocals, songwriting, he's awesome!

Brian played bass on the original Driven By You as well as lots of his other solo stuff.
One thing about sleevenotes. Some of us haven't bought every Queen album, not because downloading for free, maybe just because some friends are so kind to share theirs and we just do the same with the ones we've got.
Maybe we're just starting our collection and are not as wise as you are, that's why we ask for your unvaluable help.
I don't understand why that bothers some people so much. When I got all the Beatles official and unofficil stuff I just loved anybody asking me and I helped in anyway I could to make people know them better because that meant they would love them and understand them musically better.
But well, it's only a point of view.

After watching Brian's fab performance in Tromso I've noticed that this Steve Stroud played bass there also.

I kind of like his style. He's got no rhythm sense (like John Lennon) but I like his melodic approach. Still I think Brian was/is an exceptional bass-line composer (check 'Teo Toriatte' or 'Show Must Go On') rather than a player.

He's very skillful on the keyboards, but not on harp: he recorded it via cut n' paste. It's not that he "could" play it whatsoever.

The bass in More Of That Jazz sounds similar in style to Fight From The Inside so it can be. Rock It is minimalistic but who knows...

Almost all of his own compositions (Best Friend being a notable exception), and ocassionally some of the other's (Staying Power, Funny How Love Is, all acoustic parts in Sheer Heart Attack album). It was rhythm or acoustic guitar of course, not the solo parts, except perhaps Misfire (the solo is very easy and he certainly could do it) and perhaps 'Who Needs You', which has always been a discussion here. Both John and Brian were capable of handling the solos so any option is possible. Maybe one of them played the short one and the other did the long...

Since there are no credits in The Works album, anything could happen. I *guess* John would have played acoustic guitar, electric rhythm and keyboards since he had a better idea of how he wanted them. All Brian did was the obviously Red Special-originated three-part guitar choruses (e.g. at the end of the intro). The solo is actually Fred Mandel at a Jupiter 8, but of course Brian played it live.

Sleevenotes have omitted details such as Brian's piano in All Dead and Flash, organ in Wedding March and whoever plays the organs of Liar and Now I'm Here as well. It just proves once again that they're not as keen on such things as we are. Some albums (Jazz, Game, Works, Miracle) haven't even got who-played-what credits and, according to NOTW sleevenote, only Roger & Brian did backing vocals, therefore, apparently, there are no harmonies made by Fred in Champions (absurd) or Get Down Make Love (over-absurd). And according to ANATO's, there only would be Roger's voices in I'm In Love With My Car, Bo Rhap and Seaside (brass section), which would mean then that he didn't sing anything in Prophet's Song, '39, Best Friend and Two Legs. There are uncredited guest backing vocalists here and there too (Teo, Rockyou, Seven Seas).
