I'v come to a conclusion that roger is a real twit! I was watching some of his comments about some of the other queen members songs like "bo rhap" and "scandal" the "miracle" saying the miracle was to niave and wasn't cynical enough for him, Wasn't he the one who wrote "heaven for everyone"! He also mentioned Who wants to live forever as not one of his favorites.
Roger seems to put most songs down unless he's the one who wrote it. roger wrote only about 22 songs for queen and half of them stink.

To starter of topic: so what? Freddie and John hated "Gimme The Prize"... Roger always has opinion and he's never afraid to say it! And I respect him very much for that.
About The Miracle he said that he loved the lyrics. A bit naive maybe yes, but that's the truth isn't it?? When did he say he only like his own songs?? I'v NEVER heard/read him say that. But I mean if he likes his songs, it's not that wierd is it? I mean you don't write a song and put it on an album if you thinks it's a bad song.

I do agree with you to an extent. He sometimes speaks his mind too much when he's talking about certain Queen numbers, which sometimes takes away the purpose or uniqueness away from these songs. I mean after all, when you hear somebody who had a huge role in the creations of these pieces of music mocking his own or his bandmates work, it takes away some of it's credibility in a sense. It did make me laugh though at the commentary during Scandal where Brian is trying to explain the meaning of the song in a serious manner, then Roger comes in and just says "Nah....not one of my favourites...."

Well, I've also noticed something to similar to that which the poster of the topic mentioned. While Brian May is talking about how deeply meaningful a song is to him (e.g. Who Wants to Live Forever, inter alia), Roger will dish up some trivial comment about how drunk he was in the shoot. And often whilst someone has praise for a song (again, usually Brian lol) Roger often has only a dismissive comment about how boring the shoot was or the song was not one of his favourites.
I think he just has that attitude, you know trying to keep in with a sort of hard, rebellious image lol. But behind that there's definitely a lot of intelligence and I'm sure he makes a lot of those such comments without being all too serious. My opinion anyway.

In my opinion he is honest and that's a great thing to have, honesty.
I prefer the truth better than a comfortable lie. I like that he speaks his mind out and loud. We can agree or not with what he's saying but the man is not hiding anything just to appear nicer to his fans.
On the breakthru comments he also says that he wrote the song in a very different way, simpler I think he says, but that the others started making changes and that the resulting song was not much of his taste. He has all the right to talk about his or the others songs as long as he is not being unrespectful, which I think he never is.
Oh, and I love the miracle lyrics, anyway.;)

But in all seriousness, his good looks have nothing to do with his opinions.
And Bri's always been one of the serious ones in the group and Rog's always been the sarcastic/humourous one.
And i wonder if its part of the maintaining the badboy image thing too.
Hes always had more i duno... I guess politically charged, real life type songs, like Nazis or I just wanna testify, (more rockin hardcoreish types) not the beautifuly emotive Who Wants to Live Forever types.
And the lyrics to the Miracle are slightly naive, but its a great song nonetheless IMO, a song full of hope for a more peaceful world.

Least Roger speaks his mind. Every popstar now cos that's all they do now, pop, pretends they love everything. They never say they don't like someone's song and that makes me sick. Pretending to love everything just so the public love you. Roger should speak his mind. I don't like all of Queen's songs, who does?
