Where did it begin for you?

It was about a year ago and i don't know if any of you watched it but loads of Queen vids came on VH1 and i they really impressed me!!

then i realized some of my friends had their cds so i used to listen to them with them (especially my skool m8 but shes not as obsesed as moi!)haha

so i started collecting their cds and i just need to get 3 more

It all began for me with the I Want to Break Free video. I remember hearing the songs way before the video came out and was hooked. But it was that particular video that made a lasting impression on me. We had a glass coffee table in our living room, I was lying underneath the table watching the camera go up on Roger! My mother walked into the room and asked if I was enjoying myself and when I raised up, I broke the end of table with my head! So I have the scar that will always remind me of that life changing video!

Summer 2004 listening to the radio and heard Killer Queen. Hooked ever since.

For me the first Queensong I liked was Bicycle Race, I think because of the bicyclebells somewhere in the middle.
It was quite late when I started lo like Bohemian Rhapsody (after my grandfather died)...

I remember perfectly....
14.1.1991.
Listening to the Radio,I heard: "And here is the last single by Queen-Innuendo"
Then I was 5-yeared boy and even then the song devastated me...I cannot find words to explain it even now!
Then I bought the whole album...PURE MAGIC! I began to wonder if they are demigods or smth like that.
Freddie died 3weeks and 3days after my 6th birthday.Then I bought Greatest Hits I.....
And now I have all their albums!

Hm, summer of 2004...Me and my friends were going off to the beach and her mom goes, "Hey, Ravie, have you ever heard of Queen?" And I was just baffled by the name, but I liked it. So I heard the usual WWRY, WATC, and AOBTD. I thought to myself, Woah! They did these songs? Cool. Then, I listened to Killer Queen and Somebody to Love and I was hooked. I was completely gaga over them for the rest of the summer, and most of the beginning of the new school year, but forgot them for 3 months for some reason.

In spring, my sister bought their Greatest Hits and Classic album and listened to them non-stop. I looked them up online and dug deeper into the magic that was Queen. Anyway, I bought a couple more of their albums, and am still working on it...

Phwoar! Yeah, I know it wasn't necessary to write an essay but whatever.

And also, I got to keep my sister's Greatest Hits and Classic due to my obsession. Ha ha.

When I was a freshman in high school... my choir performed Bohemian Rhapsody. It was so amazing and breath taking that I wanted to hear more Queen music... I found one of my Dad's cds and I was hooked.

I started following Queen's music in the mid 1970's. The band wasn't very well known in the United States at that time.

During my University years I met more Queen fans and some of us went to see the band when Queen toured here in 1978.

I was sold on Queen forever after seeing my first live show....before that I really had no idea who Freddie was. The pictures from the album liners were nice, but they didn't begin to hint at the magnetism and charm Freddie displayed live. Even the videos don't capture the essence of 'live Freddie' in action.

I made sure to see them everytime the band came to San Francisco/Oakland. I am sorry they stopped touring the US in the early 1980's.

I am totally thrilled that so many teens and young adults have discovered and appreciate Queen. I remember the nasty reviews the critics gave the band in the 70's. Bohemian Rhapsody was seriously dissed by major music critics then. The same critics now praise the very same song as a brilliantmasterpiece now.

It is a shame that Freddie never lived to see the worldwide acclaim for Bohemian Rhapsody.
