I love Brian. Dont get me wrong. But his need to put up quotes of every flash in the pan band that comes along who mentions they like Queen is a bit much.

His website is constantly mentioning "Band of the moment" cites Queen as an influence. He seems to have some need to be relevant. Like....look....these guys say we were good....so we were.

Brian....YOU WERE GREAT....YOU ARE GREAT......ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATS....no need to cite every instance of BOHRAP being on this or that list....or acting like a schoolgirl when a bad review or something negative is said or written.

He really should just pull back some and let the music and his outstanding guitar playing speak for itself. It does.
Methinks that Arlene is now reporting news for brianmay.com. Every time the word "Queen" is mentioned somewhere... "WOAH HEY GET THAT UP ON THE SITE!"
I agree. I think it's a common phenomenon among aging rock stars, the need to feel relevent and appreciated by the young up-and-comers. Certainly not unique to Brian, but unattractive nonetheless.

Several years ago, I recall an appearance by Brian on the Tonight Show. Slash performed TYMD with him. It seemed that Brian was trotting out the "guitar hero du jour" in order to validate his own status as a legend. Ironically, Slash stank up the joint and Brian had to swoop in and propel the last solo into the stratosphere while grimacing musically and sliding across the stage on his knees! Brian is amazing, IMO. Slash? eh...not so much.
Yes, isn't is Arlene that puts these stories up. That's the whole point. Not Brian's ego. *Tsk Tsk*

Peace,
Adam.

I can't tell if you're making fun of me or not :(
Yes, Ive always thought Brian has a really big Ego. There's absolutely nothing that comes anywhere near Queen!
Chom own mudder fukker.
that stuff would come from the webmistress and not the man himself...

unless its yahoo related i doubt it would be doremi

he is busy in atlanta rehearsing for the show..

ooops crap... i didnt say that......
i got a way with the boys on my block.. :-)
Agree. But when I said few things about Brian's ego (and royalties) one guy wanted to ban me from QZ, so I'd better shut up right now.

Exactly!!! Jen is the one who posts all this stuff, not Brian...

Much of Queen's great works (WWRY) & such despite being written by Brian seemed to show Freddie as the main influence...

even in concerts, Brian rarely sang 39...
songs like Long Away, Drowse were literally abandoned...

He is recognized rarely for his composing skills but only as someone who can rock a guitar in a given note or so...

Though you all are aware of his contributions do you assume everyone at Jay Leno's show did?

The reason he has this ego & tries to show off is because much of his efforts were never recognized by the general public.

Brian is a wonderful musician,a good song writer and general all around good guy.But yes he seems to be all about Bri after Freddies passing.Maybe thats just natural progression as he assumes band leadership. But as the good man once said,"there can be only one!Mr Mercury was the man.

So True!
Brian really does have ego issues > The IWIA rewrited credits from "Queen" to "Brian May" is a good example. (like Paul McCartney wanting to changes credits of "Yesterday")

Well he did write it so I guess he's allowed to say so!

Jen puts up the quotes, and assumes that people are interested in anything about queen, pretty fair assumption really as it's a site about Brian and the band really.
"It is better to sit in silence and have people think you're a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
its DISGUSTING that brian has changed a "queen" writing credit to just "brian may". you won't see that happening to any songs freddie wrote but was credited to "queen". the whole q&pr tour was a huge brian may ego trip. pity it was crap though.
