Why is this REALLY disturbing? it's not like he has claimed to write Bo Rap! and he DID write the song anyway, the fact that it says so on one album doesn't make a jot of difference to anything.

Okay. So why "Mother Love" is not a Queen song as it supposed to be due to their rule to put credits of the songs to all band members since The Miracle? Why "A Winter's Tale" - last written Freddie's song - is Queen's, and "Mother Love" is credited to Brian and Freddie?
Why on Spanish CD of WWRY musical (as I remember) "Headlong" credited to Brian? Too many strange typos during few years... Why Flash Gordon's producer is Brian, and not Queen? What a hell "Queen are: me and Roger" means, what should old Serry - Deaky's fan - to think about these words?
Maybe because Freddie, John and Roger didn't/don't care about such things as much as Brian? Perhaps. But it's something what this topic is about, IMHO.

Because Brian was the most involved in the Flash Gordon soundtrack. He wrote the most important song. Almost every song has a little bit of Flash or The Hero in it.

well every song originally credited to "queen" from the miracle onwards should be changed to whoever genuinly wrote it - fairs fair. it could not just be a typo, as the song/s have always officially been written by "queen" not an individual member. the information must have come from brians camp. was the may/mercury credit for mother love a typo aswell?

Yes but that's not the reason why he was the producer. The reason is that he's the only one who actually produced (decided which tracks were and weren't in the soundtrack, made the mixing with Mack etc).
But for that extent, if we'd like to complain, Fred should have been credited as the (co-)producer of One Vision and Under Pressure should have been labelled as "produced by Freddie, Mack & David Bowie".
