Some people say that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the pinacle song of ANATO.
But is that mainly because most people who say that don't know the other work of the album? Or something else?
I, for one, think that BoRhap is NOT the best song on the album; the one song that wraps up the rest and sums it down to pure genius.
But I was curious to your views, for both my question about people who say that, and for what you think the pinacle song on the album is.

Might I also add that by subtracting all the die hard Queen fans that existed at that time. The comercial Success that Bohemian Rhapsody had alone brought in the general public and thats what made A Night at the opera what it was.

Hey I can agree with you on The Prophet song as well. You can compare that to a number of bands songs acctually. But if anything The Prophet song was thier Stairway to Heaven, but like Led Zeppelin every thing after that turned to gold.
Don't get me wrong, Bohemian Rhapsody is an incredible song (as if that needs to be said). As is The Prophet's Song. But the standout track on the album for me is You're My Best Friend. Very simple, very catchy, and very effective. That's why John is my favorite member of the group. He didn't have the technical resources Freddie and Brian had (in terms of musical theory), so he made up for by writing incredibly good pop songs, which, in my opinion, stand well among Queen's finest moments.
the bottom line is that whoever says Bahemian Rhapsody is the best song on ANATO or just best Queen song ever made, are daffed and really have not heard all of them. That statement being my anthem? if you please.
but on ANATO, honestly, Bo Rhap is a great song (that is overplayed in the US) but not the best, for the ANATO album i would say that Prophet's Song was damnn good, i like it more than Bo Rhap sometimes.

I really like that song mainly because of the memories I have attatched to it when I first heard it. You're right; it's a simple song, but the quaint composition it holds is so nice and pleasing. Yeah, I really like John as well; he wrote some great stuff.

Jamie , at one point or another I agree with what you say as well. Depending on my mood , almost every song on that album can and has stood out and A Night at the opera is one of the best albums Queen ever made really. How the hell could they ever top that one ? I dont think they could have.
In terms of musicality and composition, BoRhap is nothing short of genius. But because of the airplay it recieved, and is still recieving to this day, the song itself is thought less of as a musical wonder and more of "oh hey, that one song from Wayne's World." I'm not saying this goes for all people, but most who merely know the song from the radio and/or have no other interest in Queen, think that way. It's a shame, because it seems that the radio shouldn't have to squander a song, and yet, it does.

yea thats what im saying, it all depends on my mood is all, and every mood that ive gone through always end up not being Bo Rhap unless im freaking out, bored in the car for like 5 hours. Then ill wish for it(Bo Rhap) to come on the radio above any other.

Wow.
I thought so, but I just couldn't believe it based off the crazy sound that song has. It's amazing, but I guess if you think about it, there have been many people who have worked their guitars into sounding quite different. Take Hendrix for example; at his time, a weird guitar like that for the kind of music he played was odd. And to this day, I still sit in awe everytime I put him on my record player. It's crazy.
