Somebody to love on Magic Tour

Have you never thought that maybe Freddie didn't sing somebody to love on magic tour because he fell in love with jim hutton, so he stopped playin' it live. I think it's a good reason (look at the lyrics), but maybe they didn't play it anymore because freddie wanted to dance around and not play piano so much, or maybe because it was too difficult to reach the notes... I don't know

No, I never did up until now... yeah, you may be right!

But then... why did they stop playing "Body Language" in 1984... long before Fred came to know and love Jim?

Maybe because people was not satisfied with hot space (under pressure apart)

From what I heard he was tired of playing Piano songs, He didnt really like/love the sound of Piano live(guess rock concerts), and liked the "Move around freely" concept.

yeah, Freddie wanted to strut around the stage and dance to the songs which is much better than just sitting and playing the piano.

I don't think Freddie's voice suited Somebody To Love at that time.

To be quite honest I think piano songs are much better for rock concerts than IWTB, FWBF and other 80s garbage. I don't know what Freddie was playing at- Wembley needed Somebody To Love, Death On Two legs and if he wanted to do a recent one- he could have done It's A Hard Life. If he was already suffering from AIDS then you'd think that doing a few more piano songs would be a good idea- it would have given him a rest- instead what do we get, a flipping medley of 50s songs- unaccpetable.

I suspect the reason was that Fred's voice couldn't handle those songs anymore- Killer Queen was awful on The Works tour.

you know what i hate seeing? people who just want to see stuff from 70's played at nearly every tour!

Queen made new music, music they wanted to play live, not make it and shove it on an album then play ANATO all over again, gods sakes, if you made new albums with lots of different songs you would want to play them live! not have people sayin "nah they should stick to this album cos i like it better than the new stuff"

GET REAL! move out of the 70's and into the new eras! i love queen in the 80s better than 70s but i still like to hear stuff form the 70s too.

like this recent tour i loved hearin 39, im in love with my car etc, i agree more should of been played like If you cant beat em join em, but not so much its mainyl old stuff.

i don´t think so.if freddie don´t want to play the piano, there was spike edney.

has a point. spike playing them and fred strutting around could have added a whole new lease of life to some of the piano based songs, even if it is a break from tradition.
