Amen to that! I remember first hearing Bon Jovi's version of it and just laughing hysterically.

Personally, I'd be happier if Brian had just carried on playing guitar; taking his solo work further down the lines of the Star Fleet project and really testing himself on his instrument live as opposed to having to concentrate SO HARD on pulling off a half-decent vocal.

I am slightly confused.

If this thread is about 'heroes', I would expect to see a lot more covers of bands from the 1950's and the 1960's. Especially British acts like the 'Shadows' or the 'Tornadoes'.

Actually, John I called it 'Heroes' as a tie in to the recent post of rhyeking's. I just wanted to see some ideas where there was a musical (Billy Squier) or historical (Beatles) connection, or songs in the style I 'think' Brian could pull off (Del Amitri, Assembly). More of a working list, not that it'd ever happen. I personally think CCR is so far removed from Brian I couldn't see the connection in a million years, but what the hey!

I think people are really missing the point of this thread. As someone else pointed out, it should really be a concept based on what Brian's heroes are - no doubt that, would be from people like Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Lonnie Donegan, etc. Sure, throw in The Who there too, but Led Zeppelin? The Darkness? *sigh*

As to my contribution, I'll go with, in no particular order:

- Over Under Sideways Down (The Yardbirds)
- That'll Be The Day (Buddy Holly)
- Rock Island Line (Lonnie Donegan)
- She Said Yeah (Williams - can't remember, for the life of me, what his first name is)
