This may seem silly, but i was wondering why Freddie always did his stuff with Brian on stage live but never really did the same with John, especially in the 80's.
Has anyone else thought that?
Why would he not want to fool around with John... He's part of the band too!

Maybe he forgot John was there. It's an easy thing to do.
Sorry Deaky, was just kidding!

done his stuff? maybe john didnt like his stuff as a guess
I was thinkin about that while watchin live at the bowl the other day believe it or not.Maybe he knew that John wasnt really into flamboyance.Or maybe John just liked his own territory, who knows
I noticed a couple of times during the Montreal concert, as Freddie went dancing over near John, John turned his back on him. Seriously. It didn't seem rude, it just seemed as if John needed more "space" than Freddie was giving him.
I heard that John put an end to Freddie's space invasion at a concert in Liverpool in '71 - Freddie pranced too close and John delivered a spinning heel kick to Fred's chin - 2 weeks in traction, and Freddie never busted a move closer than 10 feet to Deaky again. Go bassman!
Maybe he doesn't want too much attention near him, I wouldn't...maybe. I'm sure Freddie liked John a lot too.
I think John got scared when Freddie was around him because he didn't know what he was going to do! Haha
Oh Freddie, how I love you! <3333

I must admit, I feel poor Johnny boy looks like he is really trying to distace himself from everything. At the end of MK bowl I think it is, when they are all saying goodbye to the croud, there is Roger, Brian, Freddie, and John is out on the side. I don't think he liked drawing attention to himself, which is a hard thing to do when you are playing infront of thousands of screaming fans
I used to always think John was the enigmatic one, but in reality, he's probably just the one who never really wanted to be there. He's a no nonsense type of fella. Listen to him in interviews, never waffles on - just answers the questions as efficiently as he can. To me, he's the polar opposite of Brian (that guy loves to bullshit, hehe)

I was watching Queen perform "Killer Queen" on youtube.com, and this is actually the closes I ever saw Freddie get to John onstage, at least so far...lol, I'm cracking up at this thread, especially when you said that John kicked him!!!

Once I read a book about Queen's early days (German, simply entitled "Queen", forgot who wrote it), where it's said, that in the early days Freddie treated John like his little brother, almost caring for him, and John seemed to enjoy that for a while. But then (must have been around the production of the first album) their relationship changed and got more distant.
When I read that, my first guess was, that Freddie might have got too close to John, making advances, either just for fun/teasing or by mistaking John's attitude. Maybe John made himself clear at that point – be it by kicking him in the face or just by talking it over.

Yeah, he was a lot younger than him...like a five year gap...
Okay. John was not as outrageous as Freddie. And yes, he was very quiet on stage, but there are some moments. He was really focused on his playing, he didn't made many mistakes.
Ever saw Wembley 1986? He dances, makes nice moves. He moves more than Brian does, for sure.
Okay interacting with Freddie. Offcourse he did that, not as many as Brian, but he did it.
For example Rainbow 1974. Where Freddie leans on his shoulder. Or what about the Liar bit? Both singing into the same mic.

Oh yeah, Rick, w/ those pictures you really proved your point..
But I'm sorry, the image of John kicking Freddie is just tooooo funny to me, since John came off as being so quiet (in videos, interviews, etc) I could picture Freddie saying, after the kick, in their accents of course: Hey, man, WTF you just kick me for, crazy bastard!!!, and John just sitting there with that same expression on his face...like, dont get in space again, bitch!!! I swear, I wish could go back in time to just see that, I know that was hilarious...but I'm still pretty sure they were brothers in real life...it came and it went, and they probably both said, I'm sorry, in the end....lol
