1.you pelted them with batteries in 1981
2.even though selling out all the shows in latin america in 81,the band made little or no profit, and with no record to promote right now you dont tour to break even.
3.having armed guards with AK-47's at side stage isnt exactly warm and fuzzy.
4.Paul still would have to look at monitor while singing "living la vita loca"

Well, they didn't have an album to promote back in march/april 2005 when they toured Europe. I think they would make a lot of money if they toured Mexico and South America right now. Many people would be interested in seeing whatever incarnation of Queen there is right now, although Paul Rodgers is pretty much unknown over here by the mainstream media.
I don't know where did they have armed guards by the stage but it would not be like this in 2006-2007. Every major rock and roll band has come to Monterrey and Mexico City in the recent years: we had Kiss in 2004, U2, Oasis, Def Leppard and the Rolling Stones in 2006.
About the water, you can actually drink it from the tap in Monterrey and most mayor cities. What's with all this prejudice and ignorance? I sure hope the band and managers know better than this. Mexico is more than Tijuana, Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros or whatever mexican border town you might know. And I think even there you can drink the water, haha :).
The band and management will make the decision considering possible profit and demand and I think they might consider it as a very promising oportunity.

The pisco in his known succesful form is from Chile, its recognized that way
Pisco is indeed a place from peru, and they have a drink called like that, but is slightly different and never has an international form
Is like... Xerox invented the gui, but MACINTOSH was the executor of his success
Thats why PISCO is from chile
-------------
I have a close friend on the biggest event production company here, and he told me that they were in conversations with queen to bring them to Chile (algong with the southamerican tour) but still is needed an expensive investment , lots of money, and the musical market is not that big here, so they need advertisement, endorsement and other things yet
But i read in his words too the fact that Queen dont want to come over here yet, because his schedule is full

So you're saying because Chile has managed to export it's version, it's the real thing, eh?
Not so.
Why would Chile name THEIR drink after a Peruvian city?

It is just another of those crazy claims... ;-) Pisco in its original form was Incaic. The new version from grape 'mosto' is Peruvian. The Chileans only figured out how to market it. But compare anything Capel (the biggest pisco manufacturer in Chile) makes with the cheapest, tasteless Peruvian Pisco and reality will come to you!
"The Chileans only figured out how to market it"
Thats what i am saying
so we agree
Capel is indeel tasteless.. thats not representative
I would reccomend "Alto del Carmen"
The issue about the name PISCO is something in discussion yet "Denominacion de Origen" is something not cleared up yet
Im Chilean but not close minded ;)

Thanks guys, good stuff. I don't have a particular brand, but it seems the nastier looking the bottle... the better!

Yeah, well, in that case I would recommend the Inca Pisco from Peru. And about the denomination of origin, well, I guess it is a lost case for Chile since Pisco is indeed a Peruvian city.

I have it on good sources that the real reason Queen don't come to latin America is because it's full of latin Americans. Brian and Roger are deathly afraid of hispanics since renting the El Mariachi video series one night after a concert. Seeing that no one can walk down a street in any Spanish-speaking city without having knives or bullets hurled at them by Danny Trejo, they vowed to never again tour any part of the world where crazy gun-wielding latinos could be found. This is also why they didn't include LA on their American tour.
