Cameras

Hey folks...quick question.

At the DC show last week, the venue had signs up on the doors that cameras were permitted at the show. Very cool, but I didn't have one.

I'm going to the Philly show tomorrow and I don't know if I should take my digital camera. A friend told me that rules about cameras are usually specified by the artist in the contracts they sign with the venues, which would mean that evidently the boyz want us to be able to take pix.

However, if my friend is wrong, I'm going to have to sneak it in, and then if I'm busted, and they make me take the camera to my car, I'll be in trouble cuz I'm taking the train.

Does anyone know if my friend is correct about this?

Cameras are allowed!!! Venues have different policies, which are based on the particular artist. As Queen has decided to allow photos, have at it!!!

I presume that the big, professional lenses, you know, the two foot long jobs, are frowned upon, but take your digital, and click away!!!

i couldnt bring my camera in to the nassau last night i emailed the venue they said it was the bands decision they r full of it people all around me had cameras i was pissed

i was at nassau last night
and they said no cameras
however
i put the digital down the front of my pants and hid it
when he used the metal detector and it went off, i pulled the change out of my pocket, showed him and he said...HAVE A GREAT TIME AT THE SHOW

at the worcester show, theynever looked
just bring it, you'll regret not!!!

Jacksonville did not even do a door search. I am a semi-professional photographer with the big long lenses but what strikes me as being funny is that a good quality point and shoot, which is allowed, can take great photos if you know how to use it. I chose not to take a camera coz I knew that if I did, I would spend half the show looking through the dam camera. I was 1 row back from the end of the catwalk and would have had great photo opportunities, and saw people looking through a camera more than not.

WHA??? I got searched there! The line that we went through wasn't allowing cameras in, but I had mine hid...:-S

You gotta scope out the person whose line you go through. I never go through a female's line. I pick the grossest, nastiest, dorkiest looking guy, I smile huge and he tells me to enjoy my night. I didn't get searched or anything at Jax. At NJ, they looked in my purse but all I had to do was open it. They didn't touch or move anything. I had my camcorder in my purse!!! bwuahahahaa!

Excellent advice!!! I had a whole bag full of stuff in NJ and the guy just laughed and asked if I was planning on spending the night there.

Vegas is the only one I'm worried about since it specifically says on the tickets that no cameras or recording devices are allowed...

They were useless in Sheffield last year.
No metal detectors, checks by people when walking in etc.
I didn't have a camcorder at the time unfortunately :-(
But I had a digital camera that took some pictures and a few recordings. I have a recording of the crowd doing a mexican wave before the show too lol

Well..daggumit! The dude felt the sides of my purse and asked, "What's that square thing??" Of course, it's my camera, but I had tampons all on the top of it, so when he saw them he let me through. What an ass!

I always put mine in my shirt - and if they have wands and there's a problem I tell 'em "underwire".

Don't necessarily rely on what the ticket says. Tickets for DC also said cameras were not allowed, but as someone mentioned earlier, signs at the venue said cameras were allowed.
