no one is saying he shouldn't have an a opinion. The more I learn about roger taylor, The more I don't like him and his stupid opinions.

I did not see someone call Roger an asshole. I did see ok computer call other people assholes because they have an opinion about this gig. The CA is notorious for fighting the law against fox hunting in England. I think it's legitimate to point out that performing in a CA campaign won't make Roger the most popular artist of the year.

This is a boneheaded thing to say. If you perform for people who patronise or associate a particular organisation, that's endorsal.
"Oh, go cry."
Hahahah, I don't get mad, I get even - even more mad.
Honestly, I went to bed, and while I was asleep the entire readership of this forum went down to the beach and put sand in their vaginas. Get your parents to explain this-
It doesn't *really* bother me that much if they want to play golf with a few hedgehogs, but I just happen to disagree with the manner in which they're dealt with. You are a slubberdagolian.[/QUOTE]
If I only liked musicians and actors and the like that were lock step in support of the same things that I am, and were in lock step support politically to the parties that I endorse......
I'd be left listening to Ted Nugent, and a whole lot of Country....I personally am not a hunter, unless I need to kill for food, I see no point. That said, I have no problem if others choose to hunt.
Is slubberdagolian even a real word?

I can appreciate your attitude, but you misunderstood me. I said my respect for them (as human beings) dropped. I never said I'd be a total sissy and boycott their music. I like to keep my music and my politics apart from each other.

I took issue with the manner in which they do it, not necessarily with the environmental issues with the animal in question.
"Is slubberdagolian even a real word?"
It's an insult from Stronghold - basically, you hit a button in a multiplayer game, and this medieval guy shouts at your opponent 'slubberdagolian' or 'popinjay'.
Probably not real, but that makes no never mind to me.
I hope I've cleared things up, good day sir.

I hate dragging it to the level of Amerika. However...
Do you think when Springsteen or Fleetwood Mac performed for the Democrats, it was to endorse their tax reforms or environmental protection policy? No. It was really just to get the Evangelist out of the Shite House.
Same principle applies here. I'll repeat it again, because I fear you missed it in a later post in your rush to insult someone...indeed, anyone. As i reiterated later: when Rog endorses hunting, then we can get on whatever steed happens to be carrying the high moral position, and scowl down at our favourite jowly skin-smasher.
You wear the angry young antipodean guitarrista image well. But it's wearing thin at the knees.
Good word usage by the way. But you really should get out more.

Exactly. I do not agree with Bruce Springsteen's politics, but I still RESPECT him, both as an artist, and a human.
"Do you think when Springsteen or Fleetwood Mac performed for the Democrats, it was to endorse their tax reforms or environmental protection policy?"
That might not have been their intent. But really, you play for someone, that puts your name on it. All or nothing - basically, I just think musicians shouldn't fuck with politics. What if he's on the stage and said candidate walks out and says "now let's send more troops to Iraq in 2008!" and the crowd goes crazy, but the musician happens to disagree on that one score...
What's he supposed to say? "Uh.... I didn't agree on that one particular item...". It's just stupid. Meaningless.
"As i reiterated later: when Rog endorses hunting, then we can get on whatever steed happens to be carrying the high moral position, and scowl down at our favourite jowly skin-smasher."
You and Mr. Calhoun don't know what you're talking about when you tell me I'm after moral highground and that I want to scowl at my favourite drummer... I just said my opinion of someone goes down a little when they associate with something I find to be slightly bullshit.
I absolutely never said I'd burn my Queen LP's so you're both completely out of line, so I responded in kind.
"You wear the angry young antipodean guitarrista image well. But it's wearing thin at the knees."
Oh here we fucking go... I don't wear an image you fraud. I mean I happen to think you wear the image of a guy wearing a beige cardigan pretty well but I'd never tell you that because there's a fair chance I'd be wrong, considering I know so little of you.
Likewise, exactly *what* do you know about me??? What puts you in the position to make that judgement?
"Good word usage by the way. But you really should get out more."
Dullard. I don't use words to show off or to win prizes, I use them because one has to try it all in an effort to express one's self successfully. I must be failing because you guys have the impression of me that I hate Roger or something.
And I get out *plenty*. I do this Queenzone crap for a couple of minutes here and there because I find it oddly entertaining.
"Exactly. I do not agree with Bruce Springsteen's politics, but I still RESPECT him, both as an artist, and a human."
First of all, I didn't say I lost all respect for the musicians involved! I said it dropped substantially - but if you knew how much I like Roger Taylor and the shit he says, you'd know that there's a lot of respect left in there.
I don't know exactly why you people are so crabby with me. I pretty much, *agree* with you on several points.
If anything, ok.computer, you were the first to go ahead and throw stuff in the fire. I think you're out of line!

Let me reiterate for the hard-of-understanding. Countryside Alliance is not about politics. Hunting is one of about twenty campaign issues. Again, when Roger says he likes hunting then people can gurn.
Which is where this started out, with "Oh, I don't think I like the idea of Roger supporting fox-hunting". Read back.
"You and Mr. Calhoun don't know what you're talking about when you tell me I'm after moral highground and that I want to scowl at my favourite drummer..."
I think I said "we". A general use of the word "we". I personally don't give a fuck what high ground anyone takes. As long as they're justified. Which the *earlier* poster wasn't. I am sorry if your little outbursts get caught up in the debate.
"I absolutely never said I'd burn my Queen LP's so you're both completely out of line, so I responded in kind."
I don't remember suggesting to you that you should... So I don't where you're going with that one. Except nowhere fast. And I doubt your parents would let you play with matches.

I own three beige cardigans. I wear them all well. I'm not quite seeing the connection with fraudulence there, but I know what happens when you go off on one.
"Likewise, exactly *what* do you know about me??? What puts you in the position to make that judgement?"
Oh it's the attitoode every time. And probably the picture. The Angry Young Man...it's like punk never died.

*Sigh* because you're there, you're good value for it, and at two in the morning, when all toenails have been clipped, the dog is fed, there's nowt on TV and all the other meaningless things are over, some of us just can't help taking Zebonka out of the box and watching him charge all over the place like a manic wee wind-up toy.
"If anything, ok.computer, you were the first to go ahead and throw stuff in the fire. I think you're out of line!"

But if I had lunch with a KKK member, I wouldn't hold it against someone if they thought I supported his policies. Ok, it's a stretch, it's a misconception, but it's a reasonable jump to make.

Uh ok. I don't see how you can be discussing an earlier poster when some of the crap was addressed to me. Maybe it's like that Zen method of navigation Dirk Gently used, whereby he'd follow people who at least *looked* like they knew where they were going.
"I don't remember suggesting to you that you should... So I don't where you're going with that one. Except nowhere fast. And I doubt your parents would let you play with matches."
Ugh. What I was saying was, I'm not that shitty with Roger, so you can forget the idea of some overreactive fan who's unfairly judging your hero. I just - found it questionable.
"I own three beige cardigans. I wear them all well."
Hahaha, maybe I wasn't so wrong in the first place.
"I'm not quite seeing the connection with fraudulence there, but I know what happens when you go off on one."
I'm listening to Ringo Starr's "Lah-dee-dah" song at the moment.

I *hate* punk, and if I were any more laid back, I'd fall asleep. Pull that bug out of your arse!

No look - this place is first and foremost a joke. Recreation, for me anyway. I can only hope that your posts (heck, your signature even) are some kind of twisted satire because I refuse to believe people like you exist in real life (outside of institutions, anyway).
"*Sigh* (II) Start from the beginning and read through."
Already did, but it's all irrelevant. Really, does it matter? I can make it oh so simple - I just thought it was dodgy that a favourite musician of mine was playing with these cave-people.
"Where my ire began should be pretty clear. Read it through. Use your finger under the hard words."
Ok ok ok, I'll read your bit and report back. Jesus, like I don't have enough homework from TAFE.

Ok I remember now, 'knee-jerk assholes' and all that... hahaha.

You'd love for me to be some dimwitted teenager wouldn't you? I won't do the indignity of proclaiming myself as 'above' all that. Heck, I might be 'beneath' it instead...
I really am not what you think; whether that makes me a better or worse person, I don't have the intestinal fortitude to fucking contemplate at this juncture.
And if it's a crime, or a waste of time to write long posts on the internet, you're guilty too! In this respect, aren't we simply two pathetic people wasting time on each other?
And I'm noticing an awful pattern! There's all these virtual cromagnons chasing me around this forum asking me to jump in front of buses and telling me I'm a fool - yet in real life, I pretty much get along with the people I study with or live with or whatever.
Hah, and you joked that I should get my parents to explain certain things to me. I tell you, I think there are things your parents never bothered telling YOU, sir!

Wonder if they'll play any Queen/Roger songs? Also, I didn't think the American Tour would have finished by then, but I must be wrong.
