I love this DVD. It was worth the ten bucks just to see Roger's little drum demonstration. :)

Not really, considering we're talking about a delivery sound format. Whereas Windows is a piece of software that has things made FOR it. DTS is a tool to be utilised by those that find it useful.

Don't know why you mentioned this as, DTS is here to stay. Heck it's been around since 1993! If you meant buying equipment to playback DTS at home, then you're way wrong. The whole point is that you can go out and buy an amp with DTS and that will work with anything you put through it. There's no marketing junk involved as, you can push anything like that to the side in these matters.
The sound formats will change in the future, it's almost certain, but there's nothing on the horizon. So, what are you on about with this upgrading over and over business? I bought an amp for the FIRST time ever last October for £120. Before that, I simply used a computer to playback DTS discs.
There's been relatively bugger all new with home theatre amps, so there's no reason to be afraid of upgrading or missing out on some new fangled feature available soon! I think you've been misinformed about these things.

Ah... I think I know what you did. You already bought something that doesn't have DTS. That's why you're miffed. Hey, your choice, so it's up to you. No need to criticise them (Queen) for releasing in a format you don't have the capability to playback on your system.

I know about the advertising thing. But then, it was widely reported on this site many times that DTS would be used. And that made sense, since it's the one Queen are becoming famous for utilising for their music dvd's. Ever since 2002...

Nah, I don't. Like I mentioned before, I bought an amp for the first time ever, last year. I only upgrade when necessity would demand it. Which is rare.

Uhm... that analogy doesn't work in this situation. You can't compare the hardware required for DTS playback with computer software in a company environment. Apples and Oranges! The point was this... If you choose not to buy into something and loose out on a release such as the Queen DTS dvd's, do you blame them?

Just bought it yesterday and watched it 10 times already. Overall, some good things in there.
Although, since this was titled "THE MAKING of . . . ", I kind of wish they would have done more of the in-studio and at-the-mixing-board track playing and individual track soloing they did with Roy T. Baker being there. It was worth it to me just to hear Freddie's exposed backing vocal tracks and bare lead vocals, particularly on "Lazing". I mean, get down to more of the nitty gritty of the individual tracks themselves and less of what so-and-so record exec. has to say about Queen history.
Maybe to most people who aren't studio freaks and audiophiles that would be boring. . . but I guess I wouldn't be completely happy until a multitrack master is available and I can sit down and listen to them myself at my studio. ;) THAT would be bliss.
I was happy to see what little bit they had about Mike Stone. I've never even seen a picture of the guy. . . and to see a quick pic of Roy with them at the board in the 70's. Cool! My my. . .he's grown a little since then. ;)

I just got my last week. The Anniversay set is a cd and dvd. That is totally different then the Making of ANATO. The Making is really a good dvd.. done very well. I think it was on TV in Europe. And seeing how good the DVD is the band or Brian decided to release it.
so the second dvd on the premium edition is the same as the NATO 30 anniversary edition dvd?

I just watched the DVD and it´s a good one indeed. I just miss the IILWMC acoustic version from Roger (and now we know it exists), i don`t like the Wembley bits in the midle of "Love of my Live", because i already have that footage. It was more interesting for me to see Brian performing the song in the studio, so i could see the chords!
There is a part were Brian speaks about the "Deacy amps" saying that he already explain before what is it (so, we know that they recorded Brian playing guitar through the Deacy amps and explained it- I hope).
The hilight of this DVD is the performance of ´39 in the studio by Brian!- It makes me feel small- he allways choses the best chords.
