We're going to the San Jose show on Wednesday and wanted to know who is opening for Queen, when does Queen actually come on stage, and how long do they play including encores? Thanks.

There is no opening act. Show starts anywhere between 8 - 8:30 and lasts a little over 2 hours. There is 1 encore.
I saw them in Hollywood and there was no opening act. I think it's the same deal this time too.
It'll run about 2 hrs I think. I can't wait for the SJ show.

I think there are people arriving late thinking there's an opening act and there isn't one.
Get to your seats on time. I've been to 2 shows and both started well before many people were at their seats.

That was the same at many of the shows we went to. People were still coming in as the show started.

I thought that was the best part. Q+PR couldn't even compete. I wonder if anyone has a bootleg of Neil Diamond doing Guns & Roses :D

Here's what to expect:
Approx 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the show, you're going to hear a lot of AC/DC hard rock coming thru the speaker system.
When the show is about to start, you'll hear Beautiful Day.
Next you'll hear Eminem doing a number, encouraging the audience to "Lose Yourself".
Next, the lights go down, and Paul Rodgers starts to sing "Reaching Out". Half way through the song, the spotlight goes on and finds him magically on the stage. At the end of the song, Brian May steps through the black curtain and starts the instrumental part of "Tie Your Mother Down", after which the curtain drops and the concert gets into full gear.
DON'T BE LATE!!! On Saturday night in San Diego, the show started about 10 minutes late, but that is not the norm. I saw a number of people arrive very late, obviously expecting an opening act, and they came in during Bohemian Rhapsody. Damn fools.

The only way to understand is to make sure you are at your seat by the time they play Beautiful Day.

They play Eminem because his lyrics go something like ....."lose yourself in the moment, in the music, this is your one shot, comes once in a lifetime..." or something like that.
So they start with Eminem telling the audience to lose themselves in the moment, then Paul Rodgers asking the audience to reach out. And believe me, the concert is much better when the audience loses its inhibitions and gives back to the performers.
