"Do you ever wonder why 7 of 10 houses in USA have under-ground refugees??..."
Um.. they are called basements, cellars, crawl spaces etc...- we store stuff in them. They've been in use since pioneer times for cold storage in the summer since its cooler underground.
Some people do their laundry down there, some make it a recreational area, and they are useful for when the tornados come.
Oh, I frequently use mine to chain up ignorant Argentinians who shoot their mouths off over stupid crap. I make them wear women's underwear and dance for me- and no one can hear them scream...[/QUOTE]
I live in an old Canadian house with a basement.
I checked and we don't have any Argentinians chained up. Damn there goes my free Tango lessons :D

Enlightening, indeed... Thank you, Aril. I realize I agree with a lot of what you are saying and do not agree with some, and I am glad you tell me your point of view. Peace!
I'm not sure if I quite understood the example upon media coverage, really? However, I think Swedish media is very interested in the big american acts. And to my knowledge a lot of succesful european bands have never made it in the US. But let's also remember nowadays it's easier to spread the music and the information about bands. During those years when Queen were active it was quite a different thing. You were completely in the hands of your mediareportation(not this word again! It doesn't sound right, but I guess I'll keep using it until someone corrects me).
Masterstroke... What's cooking?

all in all this has been a very enlightening discussion and even more it was nice to see as minimal mud slinging as possible.
So thanks Slap the P
and Aril for your points of view.
And i think its important that we all share our worldviews like this, and with an open mind because it allows learning for everyone and it can really lead to a mutual respect internationally.
Because as Slap the P perfectly articulated, everyone has a different point of view depending on so many things (location, experiences etc)
And Masterstoke dear do you have more to say? i would like to know how youre feeling now...
And how are things??? I would be willing to be friends, even if we could start somewhere as simple as talking about Queen! (something apparently you and i have a SERIOUS love of) and share your Queen experiences with us!
So i hope its safe to say we are all friends here now i hope??

If you are talking about journalistic media, such as the television news, the newspaper, magazines, etc., you can just use "the media." For example, you could have said, "You were completely in the hands of the media." If you are talking about record company promotion, then "promotion" would be a great term to use. "You were completely in the hands of your (media/record company) promotion." I'm sure there are other ways of expressing it, however, mediareportation is wrong (if anything, it would be "media reporting," as reportation is not a word).

There you go! Thank you, Musicman! And I'll never use that word again!
He's in my "underground refuge" dancing...
Finally a hero enters the scene...
Well, maybe you are right, the_hero. I think this discussion causes no harm though it started out rather loudly. Wouldn't it be interesting to hear what masterstroke has to say upon all this fuss? I thought so, but maybe you are right...

I always think about what it would be like weaponless etc...
In fact, it breaks my heart everytime i turn on the news or pick up the papers...
And i just read this heart-wrenching letter on Bri's soapbox about someone who is experiencing first hand the wall building going on and i had tears as i was reading this letter...
Why cant we all just get along???
This hate has to end!!
And it just keeps going on and on...
:'(
Slap the P, we seem to see eye to eye on such things... how are you??
but i really would like to hear from masterstroke...
if you do read this again masterstroke, no hard feelings from this fellow Queen fan just so ya know...

That,s what I get for trying to quote...
Hi, DreamingQueen, I'm fine, thank you.
Yes, there's so much trouble in this world. You're right. But I can tell you have a big heart! That's a very precious thing. Although it is that big heart causing you pain, you will be able to use that big heart to change the world. If only to make your friends and family feel good and to be willing to understand those you encounter.
Sometimes, when it's really bad, we have to remember we almost never get the good news through mediareportat...(...just kidding, musicman, if you are reading)... through media.
So take care of your heart.
I was waiting to hear from masterstroke of the same reasons as you.

Thanks for the compliment... :D
I wish more teens my age could see it too... because they're awful to eachother... and cant see farther than the tips of their fingers sometimes (ok pretty much always)... And they're kinda destroying themselves at the same time with their reckless behavior... (which goes beyond the typical teen things, everythings in SUPER excesses)
And since ive been through so many things in my life, thats why i am the way i am. And i plan on helping others as much as i can...
in fact ive a rather large, VERY large... charity event im trying to get off the ground at the moment....
And its always good to help somone feel good everyday... especially those who are ostracized by the rest of the generation... you dont have to be best friends with them, but its always good to make them feel good too...
I fear for the future if things keep going downhill like they do...
And friends and family are important to me, so ive got that covered right now... although it can be difficult many times...
Thanks for the words of wisdom!

I liked this thread. I believe we started talking and listening. Thanks Aril and DreaminQueen.
I can't seem to find any other interesting threads here on QZ and more apparently I can't seem to find people who are interested in communicating the way I'd like to. So I guess I brought this one to life just to say ADIOS, Sayonara, Auf Wiedersehen, Good bye to you who were talking on this thread.
I came to QZ for to ask a question and all you guys helped me out nicely. Then I stayed a while because I found this thread and it really intrigued me how forums like these can help people come together.
Thanks anyway! Take care and show love!
