What on Earth IS emo? I'm just curious, but what's the basis of this "label", generally?

Well, I heard that emo is short for "emotional." But apparently there must me more to it than that.

honestly i hate this teenager fashion, and i don't like to cut myself, well, some people has issues about it, but others only do it for feel like they're in, i think that, thnk god i don't have friends that try to look like that, well, the city where i live it's full of this kind of boys, where are you rock and roll??:(
