I wrote a villanelle about Freddie last year for a school project. I'd hafta find it though....

um...this wasn't meant as a peom, more as a lyric to a song in tribute to Freddie

time passes by so quickly
your life was over too soon

and this is just a tribute to you
a man i'll never know
why did you have to go?

in that short life of yours
it's just a shame you didn't know
that the excess would eventually make you fall

TQ, no offense, but your comments on poetry are just ridiculous. A perfectly rhymed poem in perfect meter in which all the words are perfectly placed and carefully chosen is just as impressive as the most poignant piece of free verse. You can spot a good poet as he can rhyme in a set meter without coming off as silly or ridiculous. Of course, this is all subjective. Poetry is very open in this way - nothing is outdated, everything is novel.
