I guess I consider myself as a verteran having got most of the singles on vinyl (UK at least)plus the more recent ones on CD (Miracle onwards) but I am still pretty excited by this.
I no longer own a turntable to play my 7" singles so it will be good to have all the different mixes,versions and B-sides(especially Human Body/Blurred Vision) on good quality CD. Of course the later singles and some of the B-side tracks are already available on CD but to have them all together will be great.
I still want the rarities box sets though asap, and would have prefered them now and the singles later, but this is a good first step. And hopefully makes room for more of the rarer stuff when those box sets finally arrive.

Queenproductions is promissing and cancelling box set releases for more than 15 years now.
A lot of queen fans are around for a long time now. And much older than you are. And they bought all this so called "rare" stuff ages ago. Of course they can complain

I hate most compilations, they ruin the concept of the band. For instance those "Early Days / Later Days" Led Zeppelin things, those made people to get them and never listening to wonderful tunes like 'How Many More Times' and 'Going To California'.
Before the first Queen Greatest Hits, any person interested in the band (without being a fan) would buy 'A Night At The Opera' or 'News Of The World'.

And to those of us who are interested in this singles box, and are happy, we're targeted for being enthusiastic? Those above mentioned things are a poor argument as 9 times out of 10, the same people interested in this box, don't care about those releases. Thomas' post certainly didn't come across in an over the top way. Whereas your turnaround does.
Roll out a new excuse for being angry at QP and fans that embrace things like the singles box. It comes across as being against these kind of fans.

Even though I have almost everything that would be on this box, and even though it will surely miss something, and loads of old pieces of vinyl will become a lot less collectable and valuable, I still say it's a lot less shitty than other releases....

But flooding the market with compilation after compilation means that with more Queen "product" on the market that people can relate to (see Stone Cold Classics), there is less incentive to release product that the minority (fans who own more than the singles and greatest hits albums) would like to see. Buying Stone Cold Classics or this new B-sides thing doesn't make you or Thomas sad, so can you please explain why suffering in silence is supposed to be a noble gesture and make the fans who wish to see a true box set less sad?
