Ok, i dont want to offend anynoe here who loves Proms and formal dances and what not, but im sooo pissed off right now, and i dont know if i did the wrong thing or what...
but here goes...
Proms in a week, and i decided months ago that i was not going to go because i dont have fun at those things especially when i go with my friends and they all have dates and i dont... and they play music that i dont care for either... but i do enjoy being with my friends and getting dressed up...
But Prom is alot of time, money and energy, why waste the time in going....
But a few of my friends were gonna go and one of my others friends lets call her 'L' was kinda boycotting prom with me, and we were gonna hang out while the others were at the dance and then we were all gonna get together afterwords...
Then all of a sudden, the tune changes last thursday (proms the 19th btw) and L gets asked to the prom by one of her aquaintences going stag... so im alone basically, but then it gets worse because i could deal with that because one other girl i know wasnt gonna go either so we were j/ gonna go see a movie...
Then 2 of my other friends (N and A) were suppose to go stag together and one ('N') wanted to use her exboyfriend as someone to go to the Grand March with and thats it, unless she could go w/ someone else, so she told her ex that she was going stag with "A" and he said it was fine because he didnt want to screw over "A" and have her going alone...
But then L told another boy (who is going with the kid who asked her in their limo with some of his other friends) to ask N to the prom because he was the only one in the limo w/o a date...
Now heres where the problems lie:
L - leaves me in the dust all of a sudden for a date, and then lies saying that she didnt
N- screws over "A" and her exboyfriend, but is going with a kid who she never talks to, even said would be akward to go with, doesnt even really like, isnt friends with, but she does get her limo and date thats not her exboyfriend... and doesnt care how 3 other friends feel... because one other one of our friends was suppose to go with them
A- left out to dry, after spending money on a dress and was excited about going and having a good time with friends...
and its just snowballed... all because of a freakin dumbass overrated dance... where you eat some prime rib and listen to crap music... while all dressed up...
and 'N' called me last night telling me that she felt bad and everything and asked me to talk to her exboyfriend for her and stuff because he wouldnt talk to her...
Well i was damn foolish to do that, because i thought everything was ok, and he appreciated me talkin to him (as well as she), but then i told her this morning that its not right to leave people to hang out to dry like that, and she walked away mad at me and didnt talk to me for the rest of the day..
And now everyones feelings are hurt, and i dont know if any of these relationships will be repaired because of all the lies and things that have been passed around...
but did i do the right thing???

I know this might sound strange, it's kind of hard to understand it all with the "L" "A" "N" I understand bascially that one lied, the other went out with another guy?
I got sick at my prom night and had to take a breathalyzer
Proms are boring, just like weddings.

High School is such a petty place.
Sorry but that is really confusing to understand with all the letters for peoples names. Why didnt you just use names? I sort of understand what you mean though...i think... lol
Our prom was May 6th. I didn't go.
My mom thinks I should go next year, but I think I've got better things on which to waste $30.

Alright, about time something like this came up.
It just so happens that I went to a prom last Friday night (May 5). It was my girlfriend's prom, and she goes to a different high school than me.
Let me just say...I used to think proms were stupid, but it was just a matter of "don't knock it 'til you try it". I enjoyed it, and my girl did too. It was by far the single greatest moment of my life.
Okay, moving on to your dilemma:
It's common for this stupid crap to happen. I think it's because your friends are total drama queeens: I'm serious. These types of girls take it all too far and become so absorbed in it and stuff, and they act like their world is gonna end all because they didn't get to go with a guy to prom. They should take it easy, because I see no reason to go nuts over something as small as a prom. It's really no big deal. Even for me!
So, I think you did the right thing. Don't regret anything, and if your friends hate you for it, then...well...
they're not good friends, then, are they?

In the grand scheme of things, this is no more important than the next whizzzzz I take.
