Hi,

It seems this show was cancelled, but according to Martin (Queenconcerts) it's not sure at all. If it's true, does somebody know why?

Thanks :)

Dorian (from France)
It wasn't.
Can't get better proof than that!
Ha, best response EVER !

I paypaled them a few bucks. But 25,000 Euros? Yikes. Good luck to them ! I support anyone who tries to document music history.

The 27th ehh? The Danish concert on the 28th was cancelled..... Maybe there's hope? I've seen photos of Queen in Denmark in '74, but no actual gig photos.

That one always piqued my curiosity too.

Did they show up for the gig, but the gig didn't actually happen?

According to the conveniently appeared other topic ("traffic accident in Sweden") their crew had an accident on the way to way to Denmark, which also forced them to cancel the subsequent show in Norway... The band would have appeared even before they knew the show couldn't happen.

Yeah, bizarre that this is all suddenly popping up now. But maybe it'll lead to some answers.

I'd heard about the accident before too. The gig in Oslo on the 29th was canceled apparently for that reason. So did the Copenhagen gig on the 28th happen or not? If not, then why? Clearly they got to Copenhagen, since there are b/w photos taken during the day..

Interesting - where'd you hear that?

And the Indiegogo campaign for the book was actually a success !

Apparently King Diamond told someone about this concert. It's on King Diamond's Facebook page. There is a message from him about '70's vinyls from 26'th May. Click on Queen I back cover and read the posts.
Although the Lund concert did take place, the following two concerts in Copenhagen and Oslo were cancelled. This was due to damage to their equipment from the overturned lorry and the band returning to London to organise replacement equipment.

I'm inclined to believe the story about ticket sales. If it was about the equipment, then they would have gone straight home to London after the Lund gig. But they went to Copenhagen anyway, and did an interview and photo session. That suggests the show was cancelled last minute, not that it was planned that way the night before.

For a band that was on 100 quid a week or so, why incur the expense to go to the next city if the gig has been cancelled ? It doesn't add up.
