My second favorite Queen album.....and off to the gallows for anyone who says I'm not a real Queen fan for having that opinion, as the original poster implied. Well, actually he didn't imply it....he explicitly stated it.

Well I happen to prefer Queen II to Hot Space and all their 80's albums. I do still like A Kind of Magic and some of the songs on the Works and hot space but my musical taste gears more towards their mystic 70's approach than their funky 80's approach. That was the thing about Queen. They catered for almost everyone's musical tastes. Plus could you imagine if Queen had stubbornly stuck with the music they were making in the early 70's right through to the 1991 'Innuendo' album. There would be no album. They would not have sold a record. They had to move with the times. Hot Space was just them trying out the new craze seeing if it suited Queen and if not then fine they would continue to experiment. If you think Hot Space is shit then fine but other people may like it that doesn't make them or you any less a Queen fan!

The album is full of good songs and good music .... period.
It's not ANATO and may not be to your taste but that's all.
So many people call a particular type of music shite if it's not to their taste and in the end that's very disrespectful of the talent and efforts of the people involved. I mean Abba were not to my taste but they weren't shite.

Flash Gordon is the worst Queen album. End of.
I don't know why so many people hate Hot Space. To be honest I think it's quite a good album. I think all of the songs are good on it!!!
My music tastes dont fit everything on Queen II
" this is me again ."
Great Comments.
look; I didn't say that i hate hot space . just said when Freddie, Roger ,John and Brian are gathering together to make an album beside each other , the album must be great like the rests.
the songs in Hot Space are not bad. but Queen is more great than those songs.
"just look at all those hungry lyrics we have to listen . " lyrics are not good like the rests either.
one of the SO MANY reasons i love Queen is they do new things in each album and don't do the same they've done in previous work. it's very good.
music like Hot Space is not rare in the world of music. once again i say that i dont hate the songs like Under Pressure(great) or Back Chat .
hey if you want to listen to dance music with lyrics which convey sexual topics , there are many bands and artists you would like them.we want Queen for Concept Albums.

Life is Real = good.
Under Pressure = good.
Las Palabras = pretty, but you know, it worked better when called Teo Torriate.
The rest I'm not so fussed about... it's only a bloody record.

I think some people don't like Hot Space because it isn't Queen's usual rock style, and some fans obviously prefer other albums. Personally, I don't think Hot Space deserves all the bad comments - it's just different... and there are some great songs like Put Out The Fire. I sometimes feel like listening to Hot Space simply because I've listened to all the other albums and I feel like something different. :)
yawnsville...
It's a pity that Lester stopped his Album Discussion topics and that they are not Sticky on the Serious forum...
At least those discussions are reasoned and thought out.

Are you not capable of making your own Discussion threads in the serious forum? ....Just a suggestion.

Personally, I think there are a lot of worse albums out there than Hot Space. The thing about Queen is that they never really released a truly terrible album. Some are stronger than others of course, but Hot Space is not a pile of shite. There are some good songs on it.
To the topic starter - just because you don't like the album and others might feel differently about it to you, does not give you a good reason to say that they are not real fans. That's actually a pretty stupid thing for you to say.
Over and out.

What's the point? Every album should have 1 thread, as opposed to an infinite amount discussing the same old thing.

I guess you're right. Although any thread that has the makings of being a good thread will become full of shit if put on the general discussion..it's just the way it is..
