yes...agreed....
I love ALL of Queen's albums!! Queen was certainly not afraid to try venturing into other genres of music and their sound was so unique. That's why I love them so much. "Hot Space" was a good album. My favorites are "Back Chat", and "Calling all Girls".
I love John Deacon and Brian May!!!
To Deacyamp:
I agree with you. “Hot Space” is their worst offering. I would go as far as to list it on the top ten worst albums of all time. I can see that you are an ardent Queen fan as I am. I was truly disappointed when I first heard this load of crap. Take away “Under Pressure” of this and all you have left is a bunch of weak badly recorded tripe. Queen had such a unique sound and style. One could spot one of their records a mile away. Take away Freddie’s voice from most of their later recordings and you could tell them apart from the rest of those crappy bands of that era that never realized disco was dead or that over used a synthesizer to death. Instead of incorporating new styles or technology into Queen and making it their own, they simply choose to mimic what others had done. Unfortunately they continued this trend all the way through the end of their careers. I know they are some who will defend this album as then trying something different, but trying something different doesn’t necessary make it good. Most of those who defend this album are in Europe where Queen could have simply farted on a record and they would have praised it as pure genius. I sentiments reflect most of USA fans opinions on this matter. Don’t get me wrong they had some wonderful moments later on, but they were few and far between. It’s little wonder Queen never bothered to return to the USA. I guess they could face the music.

Las Palabras = pretty, but you know, it worked better when called Teo Torriate.[/QUOTE]

Yeah for some reason I never really liked Las Palabras that much. The video is boring too, they all look too overdressed...

Oh.
Okay.
I don't.
Sorry you hate something. Its crazy what you can do at that point though: not listen to it. Yeah! Then you dont have to whine about hating somthing that doesnt need to affect you, and can move on to something constructive consuming your concerns and be beneficial

Freddie didn't sing out of tune. There's no such thing as out of tune, if the singer wants it that way. Then it is his way. Maybe it's the way the song is supposed to be?
"Please buy my upcoming album... I need the money"
Dear Topicstarter,

to say it is in your opinion the worst of all Queen albums is okay. But to call it "shit" is a bit rough.
What is "shit"? We know, the album came out in 1982. Maybe you don't like most of the early-80s stuff, not important if it is Queen or not.
I think that Hot Space has a good sound, some good songs, of course some weaker songs too (like any other album on the planet). But Life is real, Words of Love, Under Pressure or Back Chat are not that bad to call a whole album "shit". What do you think of Flash Gordon? Or Mr Bad Guy? Or Roger's Fun in Space? The Cross' Shove it? Michael Jackson's Thriller? Pink Floyd's The Wall? All released in the early/mid 80s. IMO those albums are not better than Hot Space.
I personally don't like Flash Gordon, and I help myself by not listening to it...

guys, have a cow-- i enjoy the music! I dance to it! I jam to it! thats because I dont slow down in life and ask myself to hate things before I just allow myself to like them WITHOUT KNOWING ALL THE REASONS WHY.
And that rules that your from china. Hi! I'm from America.

I actually remember reading in Guitarist magazine when I first got into Queen that it was a terrible album, but I went out and got it anyway because I'm such a die-hard. I found that although I didn't like it as much as others, it wasn't actually as bad as I had read it was. In fact I think I've listened to it more times that I've listened to The Works, and the same magazine told me that was a much better album.
I love Queen very much and i think its cool that they can do diffrent styles off Music take Hot Space for example a few good disco songs on their so not the worst Queen album in my Opinon i think its Flash Gordon

You're wrong. When something is out of tune, it's just out of tune. It's not the way the singer wants to sing it, because you can't sing out of tune if you know how to sing in tune... Freddie always sings perfectly in tune, except in this sad song.

Haha... well. No. Life is Real is a good song. And Cool Cat is only as atonal as *someone's* rendition of Bijou! :P

But I must agree, certainly not their best album. I'd only go for two or three songs here, the rest I can do without.
