Only this Friday we went to see Roger Waters and we aloud discussed how we thought Syd would be doing. No one had heard anything of him anymore for a long long time...
Now, I learned that Syd already died on that very same day.

Yes.. interesting that the news wasn't confirmed until the 'Pulse' DVD came out today huh? ;)
Sorry to hear he's gone, but the guy apparently had a very troubled life even without the diabetes.
I still can't help but find the timing rather amusing. This Pulse DVD is long-awaited and oft-delayed.

What a coincidence, the exact same day we were going to buy our Pink Floyd Pulse DVDs.
I know this sounds cruel, but Syd was lucky he made it this far. He was a brilliant musician, but his heavy drug use destroyed his music career, and left him in a quite possibly irreversible physical and mental state.
