Why is that? Working in a hotel has taught me a lot about people, working, etc. Its just the guest service (aka kissing ass) part that gets on my nerves, thats the only thing...lol

I was Assistant Manager of a pub in West London for several years, went on numerous courses on how to look after the cask ales, cellar management etc, and still had to put up with people trying to tell me the beer 'wasn't right'(especially after they had drunk most of the glass first!). When I would say that there was nothing wrong with it, they would quote the infamous 'The customer is always right' phrase - to which I would point to my Advanced Cellar Management Certificate hanging behind the bar and respond 'That says you are talking bollocks'.

Whoever invented the pharse 'The customer is always right' was a twat and certainly didn't apply when I was working!
