could you tell us more about that "situation"?

No, of course not. But they still call themselfes Queen even though both John and Freddies gone. Calling themsefles Queen you will still sell out a show, however, being "Brian May and Roger Taylor feat. Paul Rodgers with friends preforms classic Queen, Free and Bad Company songs" may not be(for mortals)that exiting. A great strategic move. I saw them in Stockholm Sweden and I loved it. They did great.

John Richard Deacon retired from the music field in the late 90s.
I believed that John Richard Deacon have GREAT RESPECT for Freddie Mercury...
Below is an excerpt from one of John's interview...
Visit the website below for John's interviews..

The singer's death in November 1991 has proved a brutal blow to Deacon. "As far as we are concerned, this is it," he insists. "There is no point carrying on. It is impossible to replace Freddie." With Queen retired he seems unlikely to forge a solo career like May and Taylor - "I can't sing; it's the one thing I wish I could do, because it would make songwriting so much easier!" - although he once released a solo effort under the group name of The Immortals (he wrote and recorded 'No Turning Back' as the theme to the 1986 'Biggles' remake).
Here are some of his thoughts...

He has made it clear that he endorses the 'Queen' projects put forward by Brian May and Roger Taylor, and was partially involved in the early stages of the preparation for the We Will Rock You musical. But currently, Deacon has retired from the music scene, and even declined to participate in the recent Queen + Paul Rodgers tour. According to The Sun, he was not impressed with Robbie Williams's version of "We Are the Champions", recorded for A Knight's Tale and he was also less than pleased[citation needed] with the re-make of "We Will Rock You" done by Britney Spears, Pink and Beyoncé with Brian May and Roger Taylor for a UK Pepsi television commercial in 2004.
[QUOTENAME]Queen_Yancha wrote: [/QUOTENAME]I once heard Roger Taylor's interview on the radio...He said they asked John to join them on the tour, but he wasn't really into it, so they decided to go on tour without it. Roger mentioned that John doesn't like crowded places and lots of people around him...so let's say it's one of the reasons he didn't go on tour with them.
We all miss him,don't we:)?
this is exactly the same interview i have somewhere on my PC, i've heard it too!

Deacon has a 'syd barrett' mystique to him. Folks just might start stalking this reclusive rock star.

That isn't surprising. Anyone with ears probably agreed with him.

Have you been freebasing dude?! What makes you think that Robbie's version of "We Are The Champions," is better than the original?! Everyone's got the right to their own opinion, that just doesn't make sense to me.

I think the last that we know of him is that in 2004, John wrote a letter to Brian and Roger. He said that he was unhappy about a version of We Will Rock (Song) that they did.

It is true that John Deacon has disappeared without trace?
Paul :I have yet to meet John. I would like to. I understand his point, though, wanting to step back from life - I was very ready to do that before I met Queen, but here I am. I'm always saying, "Will he come along tonight? Tomorrow?" It's like Waiting For Godot!
