I know Freddie was born in Zanzibar but I heard from my dads mate in Cornwall that knew Roger Taylor and Roger told him that Freddie's parents were immigrants and they actually came from Czech Republic but then again it was fine for them to immigrate because it wasnt illegal so they came to Zanzibar,Freddie was born they were rich,they had to move to England because of the war,and Freddie was a street sweeper to eanr some dosh and they lived in Ealing.So yeah I was quite amazed you might not believe me but thats the truth so thought I might tell you xxx

Well, I can tell you I live in the Czech Republic :-) Have you ever considered that:
(1.) Czechoslovakia had closed borders so it was impossible to travel abroad?
(2.) The names of the whole Bulsara family are nowhere close to Czech names?
(3.) Czech people don't have such a dark skin even if they spent the whole year in a solarium? :-)

My dear I'm afraid you have been taken for a ride on this. It is well documented where thr family came from in fact his family tree with all relevant info has been shown before. I think you need to take your friends story with a little pinch of salt.

I heard they changed it from Bulsarahsky, so the story may very well be true. The skin colour is because of all the street sweeping, the dirt just stuck.

I assume the topic starter was joking about Freddie's parent. They are not from Czech Republic. Bomi & Jer Bulsara are Parsi & Indian. Although Bomi Bulsara was a civil servant, I assume he and his wife Jer must've resided in Zanzibar before bearing their two children: Freddie & Kashmira.
