I'm kidding, really. Look, you can think what you want to think - but after you turn 13, showing off should no longer be important (unless your name is Yngwie).
There is a genuine ambition (on the part of some people) to share abilities and learn about the guitar by interacting with other players. It didn't start with Youtube ya know, it's been going on since the guitar was invented.
A wise wise man said 'you can't create in a vacuum' - guitar playing should not be something kept to oneself, it should be shared profusely!
