I'm not asking that what's his birthplace. Is him Persian, Arabian or Indian?

Here is how I understand it. Freddie's parents were Indian, and Parsees. There were a small group of parsees in India. They met in India and returned to Zanzibar where freddie was born. So I feel, Freddie wasn't African descent. He was Indian. And maybe because of him being born in zanzibar, he was Persian.

he was persian because he was descended from persian zoroastrians, also known as parsis, who migrated to india to escape oppression, but he himself was born in zanzibar, which is nowhere near either persia or india. so, he was persian in the genes, african by birth, indian by a logical stretch, arab not at all, and english by choice:)

oh, and i think this was in freddie mercury: the untold story...and i'm paraphrasing here...somebody said he had asked freddie if he was indian, and freddie had laughed and said, no, he was persian.

Bascially Freddie's parents are Persian they had Freddie in Zanzibar and then they moved to England. Persia is now called Iran...

Persia - ok persia sonds mystic but persia never existed or doesn't xist. It's Iran - the Greeks just named it persia like they named Europe, Asia etc.

Iran was always know as Iran in Iran and that's why they're called iran today - because that's their name and not Persia.

Anyway didn't all humans come from Africa to begin with?? So wahts the fascination.

Fredie's nationality was British. He has persian roots though. Zanzibar was a British colony when Freddie was born. It's like Zidane, the guy was born in Africa, but his nationality is French because he was born in a French colony back then.

He had Persian roots. But you'd have to trace over a millenium back before you got there. His family were/are from Gujarat.

Freddie's ancestors were Persian. His parent's nationality was Indian. He was born in a British 'colony'.

I suppose he may legally be British but racially Asian/Indian/Arab
