persians are not at all ethnically related to indians or arabs. asian is a pretty subjective term, since not all the peoples living in asia are related. racially he was persian.

Freddie's nationality is Indian or 'Bi Indian' as his birth certificate says, but his so called ethnic group or 'race' (so says his birth certificate) is Parsee.

His nationality was always British. His parents ALWAYS held British passports because they were British (Indian) subjects. It's the reason the family could quickly leave Zanzibar during the 1974 revolution and go to Britain.
I'd like to say something about the Parsi community in India. There are a substantial amount of RICH Parsis in India. Many of these families are really well-known, like the Tatas (of the Nano car fame). India has also had a half-Parsi Prime Minister (in case some of you didn't know this). Rajiv Gandhi's father was a Parsi. Yes, Miss Indira Nehru married a Parsi man -- Feroze Gandhi -- and became Mrs. Indira Gandhi. No, she WAS NOT related to Mohandas Gandhi (who was Gujarati -- again, complicated, I know -- because Freddie's parents were also Gujarati).
How does that happen? It happens when an old ethnic diaspora (like the Parsis from old Persia) stream into another country (like India) the way they did a 1000+ years ago, and start intermarrying at some point. So, when you take a look at famous Parsis in India like Feroze Gandhi, or Zubin Mehta, or Persis Khambatta -- they ALL look like a combination of Old Persian features melted subtly into Indian features.
What happened with one Farrokh Bulsara was that he had his mother and father's combined features AND was using a lot of pancake makeup on top of his pale coloring. But his strong jawline, his lips and eyes were ALL very, very Parsi.
So I'd say he was a beautiful mix of ethnic Indian and ethnic Parsi. But his nationality was ALWAYS British. And this was made easier because he attended -- from a very young age -- a British missionary school in hills of Poona (near Bombay) and it gave him a strong base/background in English and western sensibilities. I went to such a school from when I was 3-4 until I was 15, and in terms of my musical and cultural sensibilities (including the fact that I consider English my first language if not my "mother tongue" -- just like English was HIS first language as opposed to Gujarati being his "mother tongue), I completely get how "British" he was.
