Regardless of his feelings towards animal conservation - he clearly didn't like animals on a face-to-face basis. He abused them and made them feel threatened for a living. It's a wonder he lasted as long as he did.

Bless him for his talents as an entertainer - but he was no champion of animal rights, he treated 'em like shit and spent his whole life getting on their nerves!

Ok, I have never been angry from reading something here, but seriously for those who say shit like that know absolutely nothing about what he did and his passion for animal conservation and some certain people should really be ashamed of themselves!
Talking crap about Steve when he died on Monday!? It makes me wonder if some of you have any compassion what so ever... He deserves way more respect than some of you are willing to give him.
Treating animals like shit? Do you have any idea how much (of his own may i add) money he spent putting into buying land for animal habitat conservation?! Most of the money that he earned through australia zoo and his docos he put right back into everything that he was fighting for. Get your facts straight when you say he treated animals like shit because if it wasnt for Steve we would probably have half the numbers in Australian wild life we have now.

None of you would even think of doing the wonderful things in your life that Steve did, because you are a pussy! A wimp! He didn't do these things because he was an idiot, he did these explorations to provide education on these animals! Before you start talking about someone who lives their life to bring joy and who educates so many, then dies doing just that, think about if you would ever come close to making the impact that this person has made on the world. RIP Steve, after while crockerdile.

He wasn't a hero, he was an attention whore.
He did it for the money and he did get what he deserved for messing with all the animals in his show. Shame he left 2 kids and a wife behind, this shows how irresponsible he actually was.
