I've seen some claim it's been released officially, but there are lots of good quality bootlegs out there

is it released officialy - and if so, where can you buy it?

It's official. Though not released by Queen or EMI themselves, kind of like the 'We Will Rock You' DVD, this other company has the rights to it, at least for Japan.

It's decent quality, single layer, PCM, no extras, ugly menu that's only for track selection. Beware it is aggressively region-coded '2' (Europe and Japan) and NTSC.

I can't believe that such a horrible audio mix became an official release, even if it was just in Japan.

The 1985 concert is to be re-released on September 25th 2006.

The keyboards are SO LOUD in the mix that it is almost unbearable. When I listened to the first bars the band play right before the Tear it up riff I knew this was going to be hard (to stand). Brian is buried very deep in the mix. Yet you can truly appreciate Spike's contribution to songs like "Now I'm here" and "Tie your mother down".

I think this tour had a very atractive setlist, with all the early Queen tracks such as Liar (shortened, which I kinda like), Stone cold crazy and even Great king rat. The bootlegs of shows like Milan 1984 sound very good. Freddie had problems with his voice in many shows.

I wish there was one truly good officially released recording (especially a video) from this tour. The stage lighting is great aswell. Not too keen on the band's outfits, but it must have been a great show to be there.

Can't they re-balance the tracks because I agree, the sound was really atrocious. Fred's vocals are dreadful as well.

It's a crap concert. The good point is the lightshow.

I still can't believe they let Spike do the big A and B chords at the beginning of Now I'm Here with the pitch bender. There aren't words in the English language to describe how terrible that sounds. The less of Spike in the mix at this point, the better. The Budapest 86 people knew what they were doing.

What about those irritating vocal bits through keyboard during Killer Queen and Somebody To Love? It is SO wrong.
