There are not many people here who dislikes the 84/85 tours like I do. The sound, keyboards, drums.. well, in general, AWFUL.
BUT, to blame Spike Edney! WAKE the f... UP! Not only Spike Edney is a fantastic musician, both as keyboard player and piano player, but he also provided the role as musical director for the Roger and Brian's bands, Q+PR and everything Brian+Roger did as Queen in the 90's and beyond.
Furthermore, in Queen (the proper band), Spike was an employee. He's not to blame if we heard that dreadful synth in Now I'm Here. If it's there, blame Queen, their sound tecnicians and the damned 80's!

Why blame Spike for the guy at the mixing desk? That's like blaming me for the fact that copyright law exists...

Yes the Magic tour sound was very good actually. I like Mr Edney, he knew his brief and was very professional but that pitch bedner sound is gruesome- it's better at Wembley. I think they should ahve used his guitar playing more to beef up the songs a bit- imagine One vision or TYMD with two guitars.
