I think most of us lost interest in reading all these posts... ;-)

ANYWAYSSSS back to the things that DO interest all of us:
Greg, what's that with those live tapes you mention?
Which tapes are you listening to at the moment (if you can tell) and (if it's not 'just' for the archiving of them) with what possible purposes?

As for Opera Omnia being the Creme de la Creme of Queen Bootlegs I must disagree.
It is only a 4 (?) disc compilation of songs played live bu Queen. I'm not even sure it includes date and venue for all those performances.

Soundwise, it was! You get all the songs Queen have ever played live in the best sound possible. Ten years ago, you couldn´t put your hands on the March 74 performance of the Rainbow outside the traders community (at least i couldn´t!).

That was a compilation, but compared with the sound of the other bootlegs, that was pure heaven. For today´s standards you can say that it wasn´t nothing special, but ten years ago, where would you find Hammersmith 75, or Tokyio, etc? For me it wasn´t easy at all, that´s whay i agree that it was indeed one of the best bootlegs around. Today, with all the sharings on the Internet we don´t see things as they were in the past!

Take care
I wonder if Greg's allowed to tease us with answers to the following...purely in order to maintain levels of interest and to promote discussion...

1. How many different concerts do Queen have an archive of (independent of any audience recorded ones)?

2. What year is the earliest one from?

3. Roughly how many have you listened to so far?

Hopefully nothing too controversial in there...

I REALLY DON'T KNOW. BUT I WILL WHEN THEY'RE ALL LOGGED.

NOT AS MANY AS EVERYONE THINGS. JUST THE USUAL KNOWN OONES MAINLY... WITH A FEW SURPRISES.

2. What year is the earliest one from?
FROM MEMORY 1973.

3. Roughly how many have you listened to so far?

NOT MANY. WE'VE NEVER GOTTEN REALLY INTO THE LIVE STUFF TO THE DEGREE WE HAVE THE STUDIO STUFF. THAT WILL CHANGE... DUE IN PART TO THE ADVENT OF DVD, I GUESS.

Hopefully nothing too controversial in there...

That would be DVD in general, which means no specific DVD is indicated. Don't get your hopes up!
Cheers Greg.
