Whoever plays freddie is going to have to continually lose a lot of weight for about the last 50 minutes of the movie or so, around the miracle and innuendo years.

No John = No movie! :-)
John has retired from the music industry, not from life all together!!
If a film is made, im sure he will be involved in some way or another, no matter how small.
John was a big part of Queen, so IMO he will be involved.
It is pessimistic to think otherwise.
Matt.

Tim Curry is a great actor but he is far too fat.....
Not to mention way to old to give a remotely realistic picture of a somewhat younger Freddie.
But it's the thought that counts, so thanks to jeroen for suggesting Tim Curry. : ) I saw Tim Curry a few weeks ago as King Arthur in Spamalot. He's still brilliant.

i really don´t think so!
When Brian says us, he usually refers to Roger Taylor and Jim Beach.
Why wold John be involved in this?- I mean, why do they need John to do the movie? His input isn´t necessary at all.
Don´t get me wrong, i would love to see John in the same room as Brian and Roger, but that doesn´t seems to be the case. They hardly speak to each other!- But they write beautifull letters : ))
Take care

What happened to the poster who was copy-pasting the Queen biography? Anyway, it's the first time I hear John has retired. Thanx for the info!

John was a Part of Queen and was very close to Freddie so why not be involved? He wrote songs they sang and just because he is not involved now does not mean he would not want to see and be ivolved in a Movie about Freddie, hopefully it will be done tastefully and not focus on his sickness and sex life.
Hmmm...
That would be nice....
But i actually have a hard time believing he would personally want to get involved in a film about Freddie's life.
It was hard enough for him to deal with the Tribute Concert on a emotional level.....so i find it hard to imagine him throwing himself back into that pool of the past.
Would be nice to know he was involved. It would be even better if he played "himself" in the movie!
Imagine that: John Deacon- Movie Star!
Very nice....
