Hello Queenzoners!
Alright, its been established that all of us are obsessed fans of the greatest band in the land: Queen. But just for kicks lets just discuss why Queen is/was such a great band, and more importantly what makes them so important to you?
If you don't think Queen is the greatest band in the land then tell us why. I'm looking for honesty and intelligent answers. None of that stupid crap please.
Oh yeah, don't be afraid to express personal feelings. Besides, none of us have ever really met before and probably never will.
So go crazy guys! Lets get a good discussion going! I'll share my feelings on Queen as soon as this thing gets going...

Its amazing how some people can be so rude...
Anyway, I think Queen were amazing musicians. I basically like them because they were true musicians. They weren't fakes. They were the real deal.

Could we please get back to topic please? I'm tired of this Penetration_Guru nonsense. I mean I know its a stupid topic, but what the hell...we're all Queen fans here. I would just like to hear other people state their opinions on the band we all adore so much.
I think that the reason why Queen's awesome is because they're fantastic musicians. Not only that, they were four well educated guys who were dedicated to the group and were also very close friends. Yes they had their arguements, but that's what made them even closer and kept the group together for over 30 years. Also, all of their songs sound so different. No 2 songs sound the same. They weren't afraid to take risks and dabble with different forms of music either. Now tell me, what other rock band wrote and sang songs with a Vaudeville feel or an Operatic feel? This is what made them the awesome group that they were.
Queen is special to me because I grew up with them. I was born in 1987, so I missed out on seeing them in concert. But, my cousin who used to babysit me had all of their concerts that were released on video and their albums. She would bring them to my house and we would sit on the couch and watch the concerts. I would always compliment Freddie on how pretty he was. She also would play "Love of My Life" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Freddie would sing me to sleep. Another reason why they're so special to me is because I can relate to each of the band members in some way. Also, their songs have helped me thru some really rough times in my life.
So, those are my opinions on Queen. They're the greatest band in the land and I'll love them till the day I die!!!

I think Queen's the greatest band for a number of reasons. Freddie Mercury is the best singer of all time in rock music. Brian May is the best and most original guitarist of all time. John Deacon has master rythm and good bass lines. Roger Taylor does everything right on drums. They're all brilliant songwriters and their songs are excellently written and composed and arranged very well.

The reason I love Queen is that their songs don't all sound similar, unlike most other music. Because they were all 4 totally different personalities, they managed to create some really awesome diverse stuff that you possibly cannot get bored of. If you don't feel like headbanging, you can listen to Jealousy, if you do, then listen to Sheer Heart Attack. If you feel like singing, listen to Somebody To Love, if not, listen to Bijou. It's terrific!
i love Queen cos they're so distinctive. and their style of music was always changing with the times. they we're very good musicians, and they worked hard and vigorously. they were great performers on stage -- most bands arent even remotely good on stage compaired to their studio recordings. they were brilliant. simple as that. musically and intelegent-wise. they all finished college (Brian finished college but not his doctorate, which i heard he's going to go finish soon), which proves that you can be smart and be a rock star. most teenagers just drop out of school cos they think that's what rock stars do, which isn't true at all.
and besides, they're all cute. xD

I <3 my dear Queen because they are such a unique, amazing, good-sounding, and beautiful band...Their music is VERY optimistic and very cheery. Their songs...no matter what opinions are held...Even the worst of them...SOUND GOOD. That's enough in my book...EVERY SINGLE ONE...Just look at Sweet Lady...or She Makes Me...You can't tell me that they aren't bareable....They are VERY much bearable...and ALL of them have a good element to them. The music itself is very helpful when a person is in a depressed mood, which occurs very often in my case. They have their own style. They are very attractive...I mean...seriously...who wouldn't (boy or girl) want to see 4 good looking men in tight trousers and unisuits? :P...with make-up on *drool*...But..that is beside the point, you see. -_-...I got a little carried away there...I guess Queen is so good because they have amazing musical talent. In other bands...there is (sometimes) something lacking. If the voice is lacking....then the band isn't really too well put together...(which isn't Queen's case :D). Bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Our own Queen, Pink Floyd, the Scorpions, Kansas, Supertramp, Alice Cooper etc etc...They are good because all of the fields needed to complete a band are filled in and nothing is lacking. I mean (off topic...but an example) Look at Led Zeppelin. Great singer : Robert Plant Amazing drummer: John Bonham..One of the greatest most legendary guitarists: Jimmy Page and a wonderful bassist: John Paul Jones. This is what creates a good band. Look at Queen:
Brian May: AMAZING, SUPER, FUCKING AWESOME guitarist, keyboard-ist (lol), composer
Freddie Mercury: FUCKING SPECTACULAR SINGER, Composer, pianist, etc.
John Deacon: Excellent bassist, Great composer
Roger: Fucking awesome drummer, (and don't kill me) VERY GOOD composer (in some people's views)...
Now...it is this "chemistry" between the four lads that creates a good band. With Freddie's angelic voice......etc. etc.
Let's take another example...shall we? A band called Mott The Hoople. Now...many of you might have heard of them....They are a band that have a great influence on Queen...well HAD a great influence. From like 1972-1974 or something. Now...in my opinion....The voice lacks. The instruments are excellent, but the voice isn't really good enough (in my opinion, again)...For me, that band is really average sounding compared to Queen. Other bands, like Pink Floyd and Scorpions have a good foundation and base. and I am now rambling on again, but I am bored...as usual...and it is a sick stay-home-from-fucking-high-school day for me....so being stuck with a fever and rambling on is my specialty, ladies and queens. :DDDD
Besides...I'm getting bored and I want a smoothie...
