lol. you guys are crazy :P Actually i get my facts from 2 different people! Brian's own words and JSS. I am not here to argue, just sharing my info. The copyright or date of the writings of DBY had nothing to do with my rebuttle. My point was that he wrote the lyrics in 1990, and Ford did not approach him until 1991. The track in question's lyrics were not written exclusively for British Ford. I used to have a copy of the deal, i will look for it and share it. Ford's contract wasn't even approached until December of 1991. He changed some of the lyrics and re-recorded the vocal tracks. He may have written the music after Dec '91, but the lyrics are from 1990. If i am not mistaken i was told it was about Anita.

So, are you saying that Ford only approached Brian after they´ve heard the single version?

Well, if you´re right (wich i doubt- unless you can prove it), then Brian speech doesn´t make sense, and leads me to think that he really has severall problems with his memory!!

I mean, he keeps saying that Queen II is his favourite Queen album, and he says in every interview that "My Fairy King" is from Queen II!

What you´re claiming is the totally opposite from what Brian´s saying.

Good luck on that!

Take care
OK, so if Ford Motor Company approached Brian in December 1991, then explain Brian's quote here:

“I thought advertising was a dirty word, and I didn’t want much to do with it. But these ad guys threw some slogans at me and I thought, ‘Well, I can do it if I relate to my own experiences and my own feelings’. And the phrase ‘driven by you’ immediately jumped out as a description of the way I saw the power struggle between two people in a relationship – it just poured out. I wrote a version for me, and I wrote a version for the ad people, and it worked out great. It was a good kick up the backside for me, too, because these people work quickly and do high quality work. On English television, the adverts are a lot better than the programming!”

That quote was from the summer of 1991. However, according to Crezchi:

1. Brian wrote and recorded a song called 'Driven By You';
2. The song was released toward the end of November 1991;
3. Ford executives, who had been working on an ad campaign no doubt for months - because these things can't be dreamed up overnight! - approached Brian WITH THE SAME EXACT PHRASE, COINCIDENTALLY, AS HIS LATEST SINGLE and asked if they could use the song in their own ad campaign;
4. Despite having to endure the death of his friend and fellow bandmate, Brian decided to drop everything and record an ad version for Ford Motor Company.

Or how about this more plausible situation:

1. Brian was approached by Ford in the spring of 1991;
2. Despite his initial reluctance, he warmed to the idea of recording a jingle for the company once he heard the powerful phrase, "Driven by you";
3. He recorded two versions: one was the ad version, and the other was a version that was released on the solo album he was working on;
4. The ad was run in the autumn of 1991;
5. People who saw the commercial and loved the song were so demanding that they have the single that Parlophone rush-released it, due for release on November 25th;
6. Freddie knew he was going to die soon, and Brian was worried that it might appear as if he was cashing in on his death;
7. Freddie said "don't worry, release it anyway", and Brian did;
8. The single became a smash hit in December 1991.

Which makes more sense?
Lol. Nice Wiki research. Why not just ask Brian or JSS?
Hello you rock and rollers!

Such a shame some people feel the need to start calling names whenever they realise they cannot win a discussion.

Lol. Such a shame that certain people feel the need to win a discussion on a fan forum, especially when they have never even saw the members, ever. About this argument, Frankly Mr. Geerts i don't give a damn. Good day.
Hello you rock and rollers!
All we're asking is for you to show some proof from Brian or JSS, and you can't even do that. Should we just take your word for it? We've never even "saw" you before!

(lol)

Such ignorance.
It's a pathetic argument anyway but... "Never even saw the bandmembers"...?????

LO VERY VERY Loud!!

Fool. You MUST have mistaken me for someone else, dude.
As I've had the privilage of seeing ALL and meeting three of the bandmembers numbers of times (including Freddie, DEAR!) in both private and business-situations.
(And I do believe that is pretty common knowledge in here.)
