Too bad he had such an awful criminal record including drug & alcohol abuse, life threatening traffic violations, and assault.
It really overshadowed what a great performer he was.

Well thats a shock I must say!
That was a surprise...
He was alive for 73 years, but he lived 730 in that timespan!

I'm really gutted I have to say.
A friend of mine saw him last year, and apparently he was great. Wish I'd taken the chance to go to that gig now...

I guess he is not feeling so good now.
Hmm... so it's official then...
"James Brown is dead" da-da-dadadaaaa
(Or don't you guys remember that one...? :-)
Nah, seriously. The guy was an asshole as a person, but a great and important artist. Respect.

Jingles, imagine that we're 15 years back in history. Would you start topic about Freddie like this:
Too bad he was a gay...
If you can't start normal thread with RESPECT for greatness of James Brown, than don't write anything.
REST IN PEACE, James Brown... and thank you for everything...
...from today, Heaven is a funkier place!

Here's the difference:
Freddie lived a promiscuous life style that pretty much lead to his death. Sure, it wasn't a good thing and Freddie should have been more careful when it came down to choosing sex partners. Yet, Freddie never had any intention of bringing harm to anyone.
James Brown had a countless history of incidents of spousal abuse and assault. I wish I could have better things to say about James Brown, but it's just the reality of how things are. Now as a musician, an icon, an innovator, and a wonderful performer, James Brown was unique.
If it wasn't for James Brown, people like Prince, Simply Red, or Michael Jackson would have never been as great as they did at the peak of their careers.

I just read in The New Yorker magazine in the Night Life Rock and Pop section that James Brown was going to be performing at the B. B. King Blues Club & Grill on New Year's Eve. "James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, gets up off of that thing with a pair of shows."

This is indeed very sad, particularly as he died on Christmas Day.
I was very shocked to hear and apparently so was everyone else.
RIP, the world has lost a great entertainer.

Hey fuckface, is not a crime to be gay. James Brown was a criminal and one the worse crimes he commited was to mistreat his wife several times. If you want to pay tribute to a scum, go ahead. You'll be the idiot here, not me.

You can see a fuckface every time you look in a mirror.
As to who is an idiot when speaking of James Brown, why don't you check today's news from all over the world... and you'll get the answer.
Freddie's sexuality in my post was just an example of how jerks can't see a big picture and only talk about irrelevant superficial things.
