I have good news about queen concert in Mannheim .Full Video really exist! My friend work in zdf and I begged him to check what they had got about queen in their archives.
Two hours ago he phoned to me and said that he had found two tapes which was called "Queen - mannheim 86 ".

Someone from the Queen productions should ask for a copy of those tapes in case they don´t have it by now. We all know what can happen with those tapes. Let´s just wait.

Two tapes with 'Mannheim '86' on it doesn't deliver any proof that the whole concert is filmed and saved.
Did your friend see the content of the tapes?

This could be one of the most exciting Queen-related discoveries of recent months if not years. I for one can't wait.
By the way, this is the show where Fish (of Marillion) joins the guys on stage. That would be a remarkable sight!

Indeed it is an exciting discovery.
Don't let Queen Productions anywhere near those tapes. Get them and keep them safely stored. We don't need another 1986 release, after all, do we?

Enough '86 concerts arround. Please check what's on those tapes please. I think it's not smart to post on Queenzone all the details. Some people from QP are hanging around here and have the bad attitude to walk away with someone's research. Then some unfair action is the result.

I think those two tapes are the master audio-tapes for the mannheim-concert. They were broadcast a few times I believe!

my friend works in one televesion and i think they have freddie mercury tribute concert on tape :))
ok ok that's a joke :) it may be a good discovery if those are video tapes :) everything new about queen is rather exciting.

Actually I don't think those are the audio-masters, as the radio broadcast was IMO conducted by a local station (SWF) which is associated with the ARD broadcasting company - and not with ZDF, where the tapes were found.
So this might be the full concert movie... on ZDF, only snippets of WATC were shown in recent years. So that would be a BIG surprise.
Should'nt we ask ZDF officially? No need to mention your friend running around in the vaults... ;-)

If you could get a COPY of those tapes, that would be a great security. QP won't release them anyway, no market for another '86 concert, especially since Budapest is picked for No.2 should it ever arise as an option. Having said that, you could make the FAN-community very happy with copies of the tapes...not to mention yourself.

The ZDF would deny their existance and if they say they have them, the ZDF problably mention the tapes belong to QP. Don't pay much attention, this helps!!

Couldn't your friend "borrow" the tapes without telling anyone, maybe for one or two days, so that they could be copied? ;)
