But, there's also Stark's reply (towards the end of that thread) about not wanting this "mpFLAC" to live on. I think it is difficult... I certainly understand why he regrets having posted it, since it is not a good idea to let mp3s masquerading as FLACs spread. On the other hand there is, as far as I have understood, no better source available?

Exactly. As far as I know, there is one lossless version coming from a different taper, but the quality of the recording is much worse than this one, but I don't have it.

They're definitely both from the same source, just different tape generation.
