You're asking for a special Queen related event. An event is not a thing or a person, but a moment, a happening. I can think of a few, but I wonder whether they are special enough to write your essay about.
You could write about the death of Freddie Mercury and what effect it had on the band, the music scene and the general public, especially since Freddie died of AIDS.
You could write about the release of the single Bohemian Rhapsody and accompanying video, one of the first real music videos. How did the advent of the music video affect the music industry (think MTV, etc).
You could write about Queen's performance on Live Aid. Why was this such a special performance, why were Queen considered the best that day? How did Live Aid affect people and what was Queen's role in it?

A Kind Of Magic was #1 in about 20 more countries than BoRhap was. Most people (even Queen fans) don't know that.

With regard to that, you may want to mention the story that Bob Geldof told on "Magic Years" about the man from Kuwait who called during Queen's performance and said that the people of Kuwait want to donate $1 000 000 (I think that was the amount).

Yes, I am aware of the chart success of AKOM around the world. Still, I don't consider AKOM as a song that makes Queen significant. AKOM is just a pop song (though a succesful one). It hasn't left its mark in the music history books. Bo Rhap on the other hand really made the difference in the popular music scene.
