I agree with you Bob and Dr3amsl33p...lineage is very important and should always be included if information is there, I always do my best on my website when it comes to lineage about my recordings.

I wouldn't entirely blame collectors - how many different bootleg titles are Hammersmith, Mannheim & Rainbow on?

Then there are the compilation bootlegs....Tutti Frutti & Ogre Battle together at last on one disc!

A fair point. But still, if these versions are shared here, they should be properly labeled, which most of the time they are not. How many times have we seen "Announce - Hammersmith 75 mp3" here? That could have come from a silver cd, video, or someone's tape of the umpteenth radio broadcast.

If we have a definitive list of the silvers including audio samples to listen to, one would know whether or not something is an obsolete version and thus if it's worth acquiring. But for Hammersmith, it needs to become known that there is no single source with the complete show, so the definitive version of this show would have to be a compilation - one that everyone would be aware of and want to have. And if an upgrade came out, then everyone would find out, and then a new compilation would be made, which everyone would get. This is the kind of communication we need to have together.

I think I can speak on behalf of the majority and say we want to have the most complete recording of each show. Therefore, most compilations can easily be weeded out and labeled as obsolete. Most silver bootlegs aren't any decent anyway, so the bulk of the work we're going to do is organize the tapes that have come from private collections... not the silvers. The silvers will be the easy part!

this is brilliant, but could you or Bob (Sir GH) or anyone else tell me according to Greg Brooks Queen Live updated book the first show at the Uris Theatre included 5 other songs missing from this post including white Queen and Hangman, any thoughts ?

I've always been the under the impression that this is the complete show, and unless more songs from this emerge I will go with that.

With the greatest respect, Queen Live is littered with errors and is not always the best reference tool.

I'd just like to go back to the collecting discussion; with regards to lineage - I agree with the need for full details to made available, but it's not just here that it is a problem. When Sao Paulo 81, Paris 84 and Berlin 86 were shared on Dimeadozen, lineage was not available there either....whenever I have traded I have always tried to ensure lineage details are shared as and when possible, but with those shows it is impossible to do so (and thus could make future trades difficult).

Those setlists are all wrong. In fact, about half of the 70s setlists are wrong in that book. Don't get me going on it!!

As for this particular recording, we're sticking with May 7 as the date, because it has circulated as that date for over 15 years now. When someone who knows better comes along, then we will reconsider if need be. Sometimes you just have to go with "tradition", so to speak.

Of course, you can't have lineage for every possible recording. But the difference between Dime/TTD and QZ is that most people on QZ don't even know what lineage means.

WOW, can't believe someone actually posted this.
I was at this concert. A bunch of us from Hunter College went down to watch Ian Hunter and the Hoople. Hard to believe that they were the headliners.

Never had heard Queen before that. Brian May just blew that little theatre up.

Can't wait to listen to the downloads.
