No. Freddie would've challenged the very extremes of immortality...the Oxford dictionary would have been forced to rewrite it's definition:
IMMORTAL: usually not mortal; not usually liable or subject to death; usually undying.

No. Connor McLeod would've lopped his head off by now.
And if he was still alive he could read this crap on QZ. No, he is one lucky bastard that he doesn't need to go through this.
Well....probably yes. Yeah. I would say maybe a couple of years...
maybe he would be alive till 2000's who know maybe even today!
Well, think about it - Magic Johnson announced he was HIV+ the same weekend Freddie died. Magic Johnson is alive and well and living with HIV almost sixteen years later. Did he/is he receiving better medical care? That could be the true question...

Not everybody's body reacts the same way to an HIV infection. Some may live for 3 years, some make live for 7, and so on.
Magic Johnson, besides being incredibly fit and having the best health & fitness people in the world taking care of him (not to mention the best case possible in the U.S.), has also had the fortune of not having his HIV become AIDS - this depends on the way your body reacts.
There have been a very very few number of cases were people who have had HIV have cured themselves - i.e. their HIV disappeared. None of these cases have been proved 100%. A well documented case is http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4432564.stm ....
Anyways.... regardless of this, I'm pretty sure Freddie Mercury wouldn't have made it anywhere close to his 50s.... yeah HIV and AIDS medicine nowadays is more advanced than it was in the late 80s and early 90s, but essentially, if you have HIV, you're fucked.
Maybe if he didn't get HIV he'd have died from smoking.... he was a heavy one.

He's still alive. And he's using ARV every day ;).
Paul Rodgers would have killed him.
